After WatchOS 10 update I cannot swipe between watch faces

Not sure if this is just me or did Apple just remove the ability to swipe between watch faces? After updating, the only way to get to the neighboring watch face is to long-press to (brings up the edit button) and then I can move to a neighboring watch face. If that's intentional, that sucks. I use four neighboring faces for different purposes and am swiping between them constantly. This will make using the watch very laborious for me.

If it is not an intentional removal of a critical feature, and it's just me. What do I do to restore that most basic of functions? The watch is a Series 5 white ceramic.

Thanks.

WatchOS 10.2 is out and the swipe to change the watch face is now an option to toggle on and off.

Go to Settings>Clock.

“…Apple will downgrade to OS9? I tried to get them to do that to my watch and two Apple support folks said they do NOT have the ability to downgrade (not even to the original WOS the watch was shipped with)…”

you refer to a post 1 day after release when it may have been possible for a fee.

OK, watchOS 10.2 brought back the swipe. But when I swipe my watch displays nonsense for about a second (wrong time - all complications show wrong things) and then updates to show the real things. That's ridiculous. Please Apple just give name the option to downgrade to watchOS 9 much more elegant and it had everything like I wanted it! I really dislike the way you're heading with watchOS!

I agree too. Bad choice to eliminate face scrolling. I also hate that I can’t swipe up to find my phone and now have to open an app. Why change what worked😡

watchOS 10.2 can enable left/right watch face swiping as an option.

Open the Settings app on your Apple Watch.

Scroll down and choose “Clock”.

Toggle on the “Swipe to Switch Face” setting.

This was a problem for me too. The good news is that with the 10.2 update, a choice is now offered to restore that swiping function if you wish.

On the watch - not the phone - go to settings-> general -> clock, and click on that. You’ll see a button to restore the swipe to change faces function.

Thank you Apple for restoring this function for those who use it!
