iOS 17 wallpapers blurry at top

Hi I updated to iOS 17 yesterday and my wallpapers are getting blurred on the top, my wallpapers from the top seem to be fine yet but I found beautiful new wallpapers and it’s ruined because of the top blur. My phone is an iPhone 13 Pro Max.

I have a solution! Go into photos and find the photo you want as your wallpaper. Click the three dots in the upper right hand corner and select duplicate. This way you have the original picture and the one you will use for your wallpaper. Select crop and click on the premade sizes. One of them is called wallpaper. Pick that one and adjust the picture so it’s centered the way you want it. Now when you go into settings, select that cropped photo as your wallpaper. No blurring!

Asking Apple to do anything here, is as useful as shouting into the wind. This is a user to user only forum and Apple isn't here.

You can use this link let Apple know you'd like them to do something about this --> Feedback - iPhone - Apple

It's stupid i know. They should fire this Product Manager, but this works:

1) Duplicate the picture (select 3 dots in upper right of picture, select Duplicate)

2) Edit the pic

3) Select Crop

4) Select the icon in the upper right, looks like rectangles within rectangles

5) Select WALLPAPER in the lower right

6) Adjust to your liking

7) click Done

Do your typical Use as Wallpaper

I've posted this before, but since people often don't read much in a thread they posted too, it bears posting again.

You can save a photo as wallpaper, which stops the blur by doing the following:

Open the photo you want to use.

Tap Edit

Tap Crop

Tap the box at the top with boxes in the box

Now choose Wallpaper and then done

You can choose this saved wallpaper and it won't blur. Don't try to resize it after choosing it as wallpaper.

I am having the same problem, why isn’t there an option to not blur the top. I want to use a cute photo on my Lock Screen but it is just ruined by the blurred top! That idea was not thought through at all, it’s ridiculous!!! And if I don’t want to have a blurred top I have to zoom it in so far that you can’t even see the picture anymore…. This needs to be changed back or at least give us an option to not have to blurred!!!
