Notifications not working after iOS 17 Update

UPDATE: With watchOS 10 installed, regardless of other settings,

for Mail it is only by setting in the Watch app

"Notifications > Custom > Notifications Off"

and for Messages it is only by setting in the Watch app

either "Notifications > Custom > Notifications Off"

or "Notifications > Custom > Send to Notification Center" with "Alerts > Sound" enabled,

that those apps' notifications sounds play on my phone while it is locked, but at the expense of them ever playing on my watch.

But as I said in my first post — Previously it all worked perfectly: all apps played a sound on both devices, regardless of lock screen state, when they were set to play a notification sound on both devices.

(iPhone 14 Pro Max 256, Watch Series 7 GPS LTE)

Update: I tried Outlook and still no mail notifications on any account.

But when I tried ‘Airmail’ the IMAP accounts pinged within a minute or so of the message arriving.

Not sure why this is, but maybe a more technically minded person could figure it out. In the meantime, try Airmail if your emails aren’t pinging.

i have a some solution about this, what u can do is go to te messasge center and clik on the app where the notifications is not working.

show preview and set the option on always.

i have an iphone 11 and for me is that the solution that the notifications is working again.

When I turn my Apple Watch off, my sound works again but when I turn it back on, no sound on my phone when my phone is locked

Yep I’ve been doing that too! That’s when Apple called me. You can also talk to someone through text on Apple support.

Settings>Search>Apple support.

iOS 17.0.3 update just came out. Downloading now. Maybe it's a fix.

when the watch is off my wrist, the phone screen does wake, show the message, and make the sound.

mine does this

@Pxielriffic So do you get tap and text notifications while watch is on mute? And how do you put on mute? Scroll volume to far left or put on silent on watch app?

I had to enable banner notification for texts. Finally got a sound
