To start with: I'm not intending to say that the cause of this problem is due this or this. I only want the iOS users where I work to be able to print the way they was able before 17 and to know what has caused the problem not how to "make it to away".
I have read the 5 step "turn it off and on again solution" and I have read that it seem to work on some devices in some networks.
When a solution to a problem is to "turn it off and on" the problem is doomed to come back until the actual cause is fixed. This might work in a SOHO environment but not in larger organisations where the device count on both iOS/IpadOS devices and printers it counted in hundreds or thousands.
I wan't to add one thing that I've made in a quest to find what's the cause of this.
We have thousands of client devices and >1000 iPads in the organization where I work and we immediately blocked upgrade to iOS/iPadOS 17 when we understood that AirPrint stopped working after upgrading to 17.x.
I have tried to get iPads back to 16 but so far the only model that I could do it with has been with iPad gen 6.
Result: AirPrint worked like before when they did run on 16. Nothing was done on printers (server handled, not SOHO devices), router (large firewall), DNS'es or any other parts of the network. Just downgraded the devices to 16.
I just did the following on one iPad 6 gen:
Running on 16.7.2: AirPrint printers visible.
Restore from 16.7.2 to 17.1 via DFU - result: No AirPrint printers visible.
Restore from 17.1 to 16.7.2 via DFU - result: AirPrint printers visible.
Restore from 16.7.2 to 17.1 via DFU - result: No AirPrint printers visible.
Restore from 17.1 to 16.7.2 via DFU - result: AirPrint printers visible.
No other changes in the network environment was made.
How many times shall this be performed back and forth to get statistics if AirPrint works or not until this is seen as something that was introduced / changed (maybe not a real bug) in 17 since the problem isn't in 16.7.2 but in 17.x.?
As I wrote in the beginning I'm not on a quest to whine about this or that. I just wan't my users to be able to use AirPrint as before 17.x
Updated my iPhone to iOS 17.4 and can confirm that this update does not fix the Airprint bug for me. I still cannot print reliably on my Airprint supported Samsung printer. I very much doubt that a fix for this bug is in this update especially as Apple have not told us that there is.
How long, already! I have DLed the iOS 17.4 and it does not enable me to print from my iPhone 11. I don't know if this affects all Samsung printers, but my model is the Xpress SL-M2875DW. Has anyone given up hope that Apple will cure this - it all started as of late October/ early November 2023 when iOS 17 debuted---and gone out and purchased a new printer? Even Apple support reps admit this lingering problem is very unlike Apple to let fester like this.
I am sooooo beyond pleased to report that I updated ONE of my 2-14pro 1 TB phones and it actually printed a page from the picture app. I don’t print pictures. I print work I’ve screen shot, BUT IT WORKED!!!!!!!
It seems like the "No AirPrint Printers Found" message is indicating that your iPhone is unable to find any AirPrint-compatible printer on the same Wi-Fi network. Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot this issue:
Check Printer Connectivity: Make sure that your printer is turned on, connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your iPhone, and supports AirPrint functionality.
Restart Printer: Sometimes, restarting the printer can help resolve connectivity issues. Turn off the printer, wait a few seconds, and then turn it back on.
Restart iPhone: Restart your iPhone by turning it off and then back on. This can help refresh its network connections.
Check Wi-Fi Connection: Make sure that both your iPhone and the printer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Sometimes, connecting them to different networks can cause this issue.
Update Printer Firmware: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer that might resolve the compatibility issue with AirPrint.
Forget Wi-Fi Network: On your iPhone, go to Settings > Wi-Fi, tap on the Wi-Fi network, and select "Forget This Network." Then reconnect to the Wi-Fi network and try printing again.
Reset Network Settings: If the issue persists, you can reset the network settings on your iPhone by going to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Keep in mind that this will reset all network-related settings, including Wi-Fi passwords.
By following these steps, you should be able to troubleshoot the "No AirPrint Printers Found" message and successfully print from your iPhone to an AirPrint-compatible printer.
I am having the same problem with my canon printer pixma 9520. Once my iphone and ipad updated to ios 17 I could no longer print. My computer works fine. My printer is wifi enabled and has no other problems, but no matter what I do, it will not connect to my iphone or ipad. Restarting my gateway router sometimes works for a very short period and the iphone states offline again. Is there any communication with Apple as to a confirmation it is their issue and they will eventually find a fix? Need to know before I purchase a new printer.
It is clearly not the browser or the printer as everyone's worked prior to the update. My problem was FINALLY resolved after over 4 updates with 17.4 where I am now able to print from the photo app again, although the update was not labeled to resolve this problem.
I would NOT buy a new printer, as it appears just from my experience that they are SLOWLY fixing the problems as they roll out new updates. The 17.4 although NOT LABELED for this issue, fixed my problem of being able to once again be able to PRINT FROM THE PHOTO APP which just THRILLED ME since it was adversely affecting my work for many many months, but appears FIXED NOW. Perhaps in the NEAR FUTURE, they will FIX YOUR PROBLEM TOO, I HOPE! Call the tech support and have them issue you a case number so their tech staff can specifically know and address it. It appears they are targeting specific issues and addressing them as they become capable of doing so.....
I was having the same problem on my Epson ET-5800. I went to the Epson site and found this referencing the Paper Setup Auto Display parameter in Settings for the printer:
Note: If this setting is disabled, you connot print using Airprint. I changed the setting from Off to On and when I select printer using Airprint my device now shows and I can print my PDF documents from my e-mails which was not working before.
I hope this helps........
I have the same problem with both my CANON MG3220 and my HP ENVY 4520, fortunately been able to HP DIRECT print with the 4520, but AirPrint seems to be a thing of the past for me, the other fly in the ointment for me is that I still use a ten yr old router for guests that still does AirPrint but my 1 yr old new router doesn’t anymore!
Sooo disappointed with latest frequent, too many IOS updates that screw things up for me.
BREAKTHROUGH TODAY….decided to try something else and changed the wifi security settings of my TP-LINK router to WPA2 from the WPA3 default settings of my router, (reason I went for a new router a year ago was cause the newer WPA3).
And now my old CANON MG6320 is priming again over AirPrint!!
Forgot to mention that despite all that above my client list only shows roughly half of my devices on my router network, some older and even the latest new devices don’t show up on the client list recently.
I have a total of 21 devices and 9 showing.
Everything was listed until about last summer.
Decided to try something else and changed the wireless security settings of my TP-LINK router back to WPA2(which what my old LINKSYS router was) from the WPA3 default settings of my new router, (reason I went for a new router a year ago was cause the newer WPA3).
And it all worked for almost a year happily together until Apple came out with IOS 17.
And now my old CANON MG6320 is printing again over AirPrint!!
Also is showing up in my router connection list and is still connected and able to print to after changing my router security settings back to the higher WPE3 security.
Fingers crossed it stays there longer than a day or so.....!
Ok I tried everything in all your posts and nothing worked. I worked with Apple support and they could not get my iPhone to work with my canon printer. I waited for the latest update from Apple and that did not work. I am on xfinity Wi-Fi so today I exchanged my router for a new one and after installing the new router I can now print from my iPhone and iPad. Can’t explain it but it worked. A big thank you for all your suggestions. Just knowing everyone was having the same problem kept me sane.
I have the same problem with my printer after upgrading. I also had an error message with AirPlay connecting to my TV through my Apple streaming device from my ios17 iphone15. It has happened once or twice.
I also have a cannon image class not sure if I have the mf323 but it’s similar to your I’m having the exact same problem at my house there’s 3 iPhone 13s and two iPhone XR and all have stopped being able to air print my MacBook and laptops works just fine tho I’ve bern having this issue sense January of this year
