AirPrint not working after iOS 17 Update

Just when I think it’s working, it doesn’t. Yesterday I printed from my phone, today it will not print to either of my printers. One printer is brand new, while the other is older- no difference. This has been happening for months like this.

I first reported my AirPrint problem on this forum in November, and although just now I emuilated another post, this time by photohodge, about techniques that have righted their ship, I still have no resolution with my iPhone 11 using 17.2.1... My Samsung printer responds fortunately to my desktop HP computer via a plugged-in connection. and Samsung /HP Support claims that since iPhone 12 using 16.9 software has *no problem with AirPrint, that this is strictly an AirPrint/Apple problem. I haven't seen any posts here dealing with a Samsung printer, so: Has anyone who updated software to 17.2 and uses an iPhone had success in re-connecting their device via AirPrint with a *Samsung printer ?

None of these fixes work. Apple needs to fix this, they broke it. Tried helping a neighbor and I was still working spotty, but now I am down. All the money we pay for Apple devices and now we can’t print. This should be a critical patch that needs to be fixed immediately! I will not buy another Apple device if this does not get fixed. Tired of sending everything to my email and then having to go in to my pc to print it.

Last week we got iOS 17.3 update. Installed it, and tried with printing - have to wait a couple of days to see it has 'stuck'. Unfortunately, it does not provide a fix for me. I still cannot print reliably on my Samsung printer. None of the x4 updates since the problem first appeared has provided a fix.

The 17.3 update has not changed my situation, my phone cannot find my Samsung AirPrinter. Meanwhile, my visiting daughter was able to access yesterday, using her iPhone 12 with iOS 16.9. A week ago, I asked Apple Support point blank, is it possible I’ll have to wait several more months to resolve the problem? I showed them some of the posts to this Community Board. They did not exclude possibility it might take Apple techs many more months to figure it out.

Printer not found by iPhone since iOS 17 update , IPad links ok , printer and iPhone are on the same internet as the IPad , I’ve tried everything , the fault is for sure is in the update , there isn’t anything which I haven’t tried

The problem was not airprinting in general. The problem was that they all printed from the PHOTO app before and

not it prints BLANK PAGES. They told me in tech support they are aware of the issue and trying to fix it. No fix yet? I hope a fix soon.

The new iOS 17.3.1 was described as fixing glitches other than AirPrint. And so after DLing iOS 17.3.1 recently, I still have the No Airprinters Found message with my Samsung Xpress printer. Has anyone with a Samsung printer been able to use AirPrint after the advent of iOS 17? Apple support reps always say they're aware of the problem and are working on it. HP (which bought Samsung printers) has not developed any new firmware. I just don't know how many printers are still having this AirPrint problem? Or have you elected to buy a new Airprint printer and be done with waiting for Apple to fix your existing printer? Thanks.

I still have the problem too. No fix. I can AirPrint but only through a much more cumbersome brother app. Previously I could print directly from the PHOTO APP and I just hit the little arrow in box going upward and voila printed on old new ancient phones. Now I get nothing but a blank piece of paper. No fix! Tech support told me the same thing “working on it” through 5 updates now.

Upgraded iPhone 13 Pro to 17.4 and my ipad pro 12.9 4th generation to 17.4 and both printed an email to my Epson ET-2750 this morning.

Just got to update an iPad 8" and an iPad mini later today.......

Updated my iPhone to iOS 17.4 and can confirm that this update does not fix the Airprint bug for me. I still cannot print reliably on my Airprint supported Samsung printer. I very much doubt that a fix for this bug is in this update especially as Apple have not told us that there is.

I am sooooo beyond pleased to report that I updated ONE of my 2-14pro 1 TB phones and it actually printed a page from the picture app. I don’t print pictures. I print work I’ve screen shot, BUT IT WORKED!!!!!!!

Of course we’ve all tried all that. That’s all basic crap everyone knows, shouldn’t have to try and is NOT the problem. Resetting networks each time you want to print is ludicrous, and Apple needs to provide a true solution, because printing was never a problem in the past.

I am having the same problem with my canon printer pixma 9520. Once my iphone and ipad updated to ios 17 I could no longer print. My computer works fine. My printer is wifi enabled and has no other problems, but no matter what I do, it will not connect to my iphone or ipad. Restarting my gateway router sometimes works for a very short period and the iphone states offline again. Is there any communication with Apple as to a confirmation it is their issue and they will eventually find a fix? Need to know before I purchase a new printer.

I have the same problem with both my CANON MG3220 and my HP ENVY 4520, fortunately been able to HP DIRECT print with the 4520, but AirPrint seems to be a thing of the past for me, the other fly in the ointment for me is that I still use a ten yr old router for guests that still does AirPrint but my 1 yr old new router doesn’t anymore!

Sooo disappointed with latest frequent, too many IOS updates that screw things up for me.
