Do the following, i this order:
This should restart the BonJour network that manages printer connectivity.
Note that is probably just one of these that needs to be done, but figuring out which one will take longer than just doing them all.
Both my iPhone and iPad have iOS 17 and they both still print.
Tried variety of other things - e.g. getting into the printer configuration and turning Airprint off to force an error on the phone, then back on again to force reloading the printer.
All workarounds might work for a day or so, but not permanently. I still cannot print and still get the same error.
Looks like three options - give up on printing from my phone (which I was doing daily so may drive moving off Apple and back onto Android), purchase a new printer (but note my current printer is listed by Apple as an Airprint supported printer so who knows which one will work), or wait for Apple to acknowledge the problem and provide a fix in an iOS update.
Thank you for this response. For me it’ll work after I reset everything, but then later in the day or next day it won’t work again, and I have to do the reset process again. I’m hopeful the next update will do the trick.
This did not help me. I specifically cannot print anything but BLANK pages when I receive work texts and I screen shot it, crop it, and save it to PHOTOS. That is when I cannot print. That is all I print all day for my WORK!!!!! IT IS HORRIBLE!!!! They are just RUINING THINGS THAT WORKED FINE BEFORE. They are going to push people to go to androids where you get tons of apps, I hear for FREE, rather than having to pay for everything with APPLE!!!! They are total money hungry wolves!

As to whether this fixes the problem, I'll have to wait a day or two and see if I can continue to Airprint each day as I could before iOS 17.1.
OK. Short update.
Day 1 following install (which naturally included a phone reboot) - printing
Day 2 - still printing
So things are so far looking positive.
Day 3 - got URF ERROR - Incomplete Session by time out, and the document did not print
So, no 17.2 does not fix the Airprint printing problem for me. Which is disappointing.
We’ve had two iOS updates since this problem first appeared neither of which fixes the problem for me. Do we know that it has been acknowledged and that a fix is on the way at some point?
No, unfortunately 17.2 does not fix the problem.
Rebooting the phone always restored printing for a day or so, but is no longer than that. The problem always recurs and continues to do so with 17.2 installed.
17.2 has made no difference.
Nope. 17.2.1 doesn’t fix it. It fixes something to do with screen sharing. That’s three updates since I joined this discussion, none of which fix the problem.
Makes me wonder if Apple has acknowledged this bug. Does anyone know?
The problem is that I have parents sign sheets and I need to work quickly all day. For the past 10 years, whether it be old or new iPhones, I was able to print DIRECTLY from the PICTURES. It now only PRINTS BLANK PAGES. I know what I am doing. It NO LONGER WORKS. I have to go through the APP NOW and it makes me lose TONS OF WORK TIME!
you are so correct!!!! So many rapidly coming UPDATE, UPDATE UPDATE, and does not fix the problem. for over 10 years I could print DIRECTLY from PHOTOS (screen shots of paperwork), on my iphones 6,8, and my 2-1TB $4000 (with accessories) iphones 14PRO. I could print NO PROBLEM directly from PHOTOS, AIRPRINT. NOW I GET A BLANK SHEET OF PAPER. THAT IS IT, A BLANK SHEET OF PAPER!!!!
Nothing anybody posted fixes the ability to directly post from PHOTOs as I could always do for 10 years with new phones, old phones, all the way up until IOS update 17.1.1 and all after. Were mostly all professional people and we understand!!!!
why is apple removing my posts when I am writing almost exactly what others are writing about the inability to perform my work properly due the the 17.1.1 update that disrupted airprinting from photos, etc. This seems to be an endless problem for tons of people posting here? How are my posts any different? Just don't understand this?
It landed and did not fix the problem. I am still printing BLANK sheets when airprinting. I have an $800 Brother airprinter I can NO LONGER AIRPRINT TO. I was able to with an iPhone 6,8, 14PRO for 10 years, and now I can't? Why? Why not fixed?
Thank you for the suggestion...wish it had worked
I have and epson ET-3760
and
iphone 12 pro running iOS 17.2.1
no success after following the above steps in order, airprint still not working
my printer's firmware was up to date when I checked
my mac book can successfully AirPrint to this printer (they are all on the same wireless network)
(BTW I've had other issues between my phone since the 17.2 update and my series 7 apple watch running 10.2
.....after 2 hours on the phone with apple care yesterday and unpairing/repairing my watch they appear to be fixed)
I have the same problem with my iOS devices. All running latest iOS 17 and no device is able to print. Although the printer (Brother HL-L2375DW) is visible and detected by the iOS devices, after a print command nothing happens. Also no error message.
If Apple plans to keep this bug, they should send this list (the Apple Six-Step?) out to all their iPhone users.
Computer always connects to the same printer just fine. The phone is random. iOS 17.1.2
