Do the following, i this order:
This should restart the BonJour network that manages printer connectivity.
Note that is probably just one of these that needs to be done, but figuring out which one will take longer than just doing them all.
Both my iPhone and iPad have iOS 17 and they both still print.
Decided to try something else and changed the wireless security settings of my TP-LINK router back to WPA2(which what my old LINKSYS router was) from the WPA3 default settings of my new router, (reason I went for a new router a year ago was cause the newer WPA3).
And it all worked for almost a year happily together until Apple came out with IOS 17.
And now my old CANON MG6320 is printing again over AirPrint!!
Also is showing up in my router connection list and is still connected and able to print to after changing my router security settings back to the higher WPE3 security.
Fingers crossed it stays there longer than a day or so.....!
I restarted my iPhone 14 Pro and that solved the problem.
What worked for me was updating the printer's firmware.
Saw this on a number of devices on 17.x, upgrading to 17.2 last week fixed it for me. Also just finished installing 17.2.1 and that seems to work as well.
Prior to following the steps you outlined, Canon had an update for my Pixma. I installed the update (still had the problem) prior to the powering down steps. My iPhone now “finds” the printer.
I have an Epson 2720. I had the same issue. I did an update on the printer. I turned off my phone and printer and then turned them both back on. Now, it’s working.
This worked, specifically power-cycling my mesh network (router). Thanks a million, Lawrence.
To start with: I'm not intending to say that the cause of this problem is due this or this. I only want the iOS users where I work to be able to print the way they was able before 17 and to know what has caused the problem not how to "make it to away".
I have read the 5 step "turn it off and on again solution" and I have read that it seem to work on some devices in some networks.
When a solution to a problem is to "turn it off and on" the problem is doomed to come back until the actual cause is fixed. This might work in a SOHO environment but not in larger organisations where the device count on both iOS/IpadOS devices and printers it counted in hundreds or thousands.
I wan't to add one thing that I've made in a quest to find what's the cause of this.
We have thousands of client devices and >1000 iPads in the organization where I work and we immediately blocked upgrade to iOS/iPadOS 17 when we understood that AirPrint stopped working after upgrading to 17.x.
I have tried to get iPads back to 16 but so far the only model that I could do it with has been with iPad gen 6.
Result: AirPrint worked like before when they did run on 16. Nothing was done on printers (server handled, not SOHO devices), router (large firewall), DNS'es or any other parts of the network. Just downgraded the devices to 16.
I just did the following on one iPad 6 gen:
Running on 16.7.2: AirPrint printers visible.
Restore from 16.7.2 to 17.1 via DFU - result: No AirPrint printers visible.
Restore from 17.1 to 16.7.2 via DFU - result: AirPrint printers visible.
Restore from 16.7.2 to 17.1 via DFU - result: No AirPrint printers visible.
Restore from 17.1 to 16.7.2 via DFU - result: AirPrint printers visible.
No other changes in the network environment was made.
How many times shall this be performed back and forth to get statistics if AirPrint works or not until this is seen as something that was introduced / changed (maybe not a real bug) in 17 since the problem isn't in 16.7.2 but in 17.x.?
As I wrote in the beginning I'm not on a quest to whine about this or that. I just wan't my users to be able to use AirPrint as before 17.x

I keep having problems with it saying no printers, then I see the printers and they don’t print. There’s something up with either my 15 pro or iOS 17.0.3 because both my printers have troubles now.
Please read and follow the guidance in the Apple Recommended post at the top of this page.
But before you do that, if you use VPN delete the VPN profile and app, and see if that resolves the problem.

A necessary update.
A day or so later, I was unable to select my printer. So I followed all the steps again, this time shutting down my router. Now it is working consistently, with one remaining anoyance. My phone keeps forgetting the printer, meaning I have to reselect it.
I have reported this issue back to Apple through the Feedback Assistant as both a Developer and an IT Administrator. I did this because I tried adding an AirPrint Config. Profile to an iPhone running iOS 17.1, and it still couldn't find a printer. This is now a serious bug in iOS/iPad 17, and people need to know, if you need to printer from an iPhone or iPad, do not update to iOS/iPadOS 17, and you will lose the ability to print until Apple fixes this bug.
Hi teitchej,
In addition to the Apple recommended answer’s troubleshooting steps, I would recommend making sure that your printer has the latest firmware.
I actually just had the same problem and updating my Canon's firmware solved it immediately.
I hope this works for you and the others. Have a nice one!
After reading so many of these comments I beg that Apple get involved in the Apple Community and pay attention to what so many of these users are saying. This is an issue that started with iOS 17. My parents and I both have a Canon Imageclass D570. The devices that have been updated to iOS 17 no longer print to this printer. The phone can see the printer and select the printer. Once this is done it disappears. Devices that have not updated the software can still print as normal. It is not a network issue. All reboot steps have been followed multiple times. We have uninstalled and reinstalled the printer, as well updating drivers and software. It's not a conspiracy theory and please be kind when replying to others. The simple fact is an update patch needs to be done and hopefully Apple will take care of that promptly.
i*OS 17.4 was just released and now it seems like both the Bonjour/Airprint printer detection problem and the fact that it was (almost?) impossible to print from images from "Photos" is solved.
Now I just miss the feature that came in iOS 10 which is delete / forget printers that require username and password since there is as far as I know no other way to change credentials for a printer.
