HomePod OS 17.0 asking to accept terms & conditions

I have updated original HomePod pair to OS 17.0, my Apple TV to tvOS 17.0 and my iPad to iPadOS 17… when I ask Siri to play a radio station on my HomePod it starts to say it is playing via TuneIn but then states that I need to accept Apple Music terms and conditions on all devices. I logged out of iCloud on the iPad, rebooted and then logged back into iCloud but it did not prompt for any new T’s & C’s. I cannot logout out of tvOS (logout button is greyed out) because it is the only Apple ID logged in on the Apple TV. I’m stuck. How do I accept apple T’s & C’s? I also have an iPhone 13 still on latest iOS 16.x and a couple Mac’s. I have not yet upgraded to new home architecture in Apple Home on iOS.

Ok, Apple - if you are listening - please reset your terms and conditions to apply to all devices when it's main user appleId accepts on any single device.

I'm not sure what did it exactly, but I forgot about my appletv device. It was also upgraded to V17. While everything worked everywhere and I never came to a terms and conditions page, I did 2 things last night: Managed to get my wife connected (is this new? Settings -> Users and Accounts -> additional Users), and went to the music app in the apple tv and just played something. One of those worked. Seems good today.

Similar problem for me, two Homepods tied in as a stereo pair with Apple TV. I have to accept Apple Music terms and conditions, except I don't have Music, not paying for it, so why this requirement? What I can see is Apple is offering me 6 months free trial of Music and I cannot see anywhere that I can kill that. So I am guessing that I will have to accept the 6 months and then have to remember to stop it later. But first I will try unlinking and relinking to A-TV.

Not a serious issue, getting that free for six months, but super weird. I can't understand why that stops me using the Apple TV linked pair to listen to iHart or TuneIn radio stations. The other Homepod I have in the house is working as normal, lets me listen to radio via Siri.

I have same problem. I unpaired and repaired my two HomePods which disconnected them from Apple TV payback then I could ask Siri to play music on them. What I want is to play music without the TV and to play film sound through the TV when I’m watching. It seems HomePods can only do one or the other, independent or linked as stereo tv speaker, but not both as I could do before ????

Trust me, I was you. I was even screaming at Siri. I normally use my paired HomePod minis to play music, but also as speakers for my Apple TV. Do you do this too? If so,

I found the solution on the page. Just go into your Apple TV and play a song in Apple Music and the problem will be resolved.

if you use your speakers for a Mac or iPad whatever, log into Apple Music on those and do the same.

I had the same issue with my wife's account. I could use Siri on our HomePod Minis but she could not. I did two thing, which either worked together or one of which worked. I first unpaired and re-paired the minis, then also toggled her iCloud Home setting. Finally I rebooted the minis, although doing that on its own first had no effect.

I was also having this problem only with the paired HomePod minis connected to Apple TV 4K. (I have other HomePod minis that are responding fine when I ask Siri). Strangely, I could ask Siri to play one radio station through TuneIn but not another. I was trying to use the speakers alone, not with Apple TV. I just turned on Apple TV, went to the Music app, tuned into the station I’d wanted, encountered success, then turned off the Apple TV and went back to asking Siri to play the station I’d wanted on the paires HomePod minis connected to Apple TV, and voilà! It worked!
