iOS 17 gray call screen

This is a less the effective. Let alone l use my phone as a business tool.

I regret more and more the hooks, and poor design “ upgrades “ of Apple. I have a 15 so not old.

the colors have less contrast, attaching is no longer streamline.

The contact forwarding is additional steps as well.

Can you create a point to go back to and undo the upgrade?

why don’t they correct the poor autocorrect inaccuracies and other productive things? If you enter events into iCal first they do not cross into Outlook. If you start in the Outlook calendar it will roll to iCal.

i also noticed pop ups with the update

Honestly, the first time I saw it, I thought that something had happened and my phone went into some kind of emergency setting. Or that I somehow pressed something wrong in settings.

It just looks hideous and wrong. I hate it. I want my old call screen back. Or at the very least, an option to choose whatever color I want on the call screen.

This is the absolute worst phone call screen!!! What were they thinking?

Some of the phone numbers are below the visible screen and forces me to take an extra step and scroll down.

The gray is horrible.

please take our feedback and either revert back to old layout of iOS 16 or give us an option in the next IOS “down grade”.

is this really one of that big changes ??? Really !!!???! Duds …. I mean There was not anything much more important than call screen color to change ? 😂

If I needed an android phone I could have got an android one not an iPhone that looks like android! The worst decision ever from developers at apple! Please switch us back to the old one that we used to since several years now…. Apple is Apple not orange or pear or a banana for that matter! It’s an iconic brand and a stature symbol! It’s serious…

@Dogcow-Moof: I watched the video you posted. Is this feature the cause of all our issues with the gray call screen? Is that how it is a notable feature? I don't see any utility in it, especially for business use. I do see privacy concerns. I do see a lot of complicated steps involved to expose information about ourselves to others we call.

Since you were so kind as to show us a promotional video on how to navigate this complicated feature many of us don't want or need, would you also be so kind as to show us how to be sure it is turned off so that our private information is not shared with other iPhone users without our knowledge just because we happen to call them?

What you have brought to light in your post here is that it is not just a gray call screen issue, it is a privacy issue with a complicated new feature we need to know how to disable to protect our privacy. At least that is what I'm seeing from the video you posted - please correct me if I'm wrong. This is a user-to-user forum I understand, so I'm asking for your help here to protect my privacy and understand how to disable this feature which I do not wish to use in any way, shape, or form.

Ok I went to Settings -> Contacts as you instructed and this is what I see on my phone. I don't see anything about this new feature or how to prevent my personal information from being shared with those I call. How do I protect my privacy?:

I like it, so I count as much as you not liking it. I also have absolutely no complaint about the gray screen or how Apple rearranged the phone call buttons. It's just a color. And the buttons all work as designed, so, it was just a change. In fact, my motor skills have already become quite adjusted to them.

There are simply more things in life worth worrying over more than a call screen color or button realignment. At least I would hope there are more important things to be concerned about.

It's fair to say we both count Lobster, but Dogcow said, "most iOS users" which is a lot more than two. I'm genuinely interested in seeing whatever statistically representative survey he is referring to.

I don't. If it's a contact for a company, I sometimes use the company logo. If it's a business contact who is a person, I use their professional picture from someplace like LInkedin. That makes a whole lot more sense to me than using a selfie. But, as noted, you do you.

I am not looking all over differnt domains or getting photos off the web, I don't use Linkin

You are suggesting I edit every contact on my device, I really have better things to do than that

The whole point is Apple is out of bounds on this, Bring back the basic screen like iOS 16 or give user the option to change the ring screen to a standard appearance

I think it's fine. But I rarely go into Contacts anyway. I mostly make calls with Siri and, for Messages, you don't need to go to Contacts at all. I do like the posters when people call.

Personally, I find gray to be a very calming color. I wear a lot of gray clothing and shoes and have several gray watch bands for my Apple Watch. Color is subjectively personal. But I honestly have no issue with the new gray call screen. I actually like it. But if they chose another color, I wouldn't be bothered about it. It's JUST a color and one you don't see very long when you're on a call anyway.

Ditto. Almost all the walls in my house are grey (it came that way). I laugh when I read decorating articles that say that colour is out of fashion. It's relaxing and goes with everything.
