iPhone 15 Pro Max Wi-Fi Issues

I Hope apple or others can help me out - I’m having issues with WiFi on the IPhone 15 Pro Max

myself and others are having issues with using WiFi and 160hz - many have raised issues on Reddit posts - some cannot connect to there WiFi at all and others can connect like myself but have random issues with no internet from time to time

Mines working on 5GHz 160hz, but sometimes I’ll just have no internet connection (it’s still connected to the WiFi) - I have to disconnect from the WiFi and connect again for it to work.

I’m using ASUS RT-AX82U - 5GHz allowed Upto 160hz - I’m running 1gig internet so last thing I want to do is try running at 80hz as I’ll loose speed

When it does work it works great 😊

PLEASE FIX THIS ASAP APPLE

I've got a fix!!! This was frustrating me to no end. Went to Apple store and talked with one of the experienced techs. He said the issue is the iPhone when you import from an old iPhone imports non-ideal network settings, not just your old iPhone passwords. Fix is below.

Network -> General -> Transfer or Reset iPhone -> Reset Network Settings

Wifi has been working like a charm since I did this. Read about this for hours and never saw this suggested anywhere else so figured I'd contribute.

I hope this helps someone I have been having the same issues as everyone else for days. Been on CenturyLink as my ISP and an old outdated router for some time and been wanting to switch to a new ISP for some time. Well finally confirmed with my apartment complex Xfinity is offered. I switched today new Gateway Router through Xfinity and with the new ISP no issues whatsoever getting 1GB download. I was worried it was the iPhone 15 Pro Max now pretty sure it’s not a phone hardware issues. Hope this helps others!

I've send Apple Support a message through Twitter/X which led me to the Apple Support website to go where you select what device then what the issue is. Which then led me to opening up a conversation with Apple Support in Messages (text convo). I've send a message then right away got a message saying "Let me connect you with someone who can help. etc etc Apple may record, use, and keep a transcript of this conversation..." Just got a message from a support person, Shivakumar, gave the niceties (Thank you for reaching out and giving details, etc). In conversation with support now, will update later, but a diagnostic will be run. My parents suggested I go to an Apple store to see what is going on. Which I still may do, depending on what I get from Shivakumar.

Yeah. It didn't help. The diagnostic showed my "...device is more than fine. Everything should be working." Then he suggested to reset the network settings. Did that, it did nothing other than waste my time and energy. And then he said to do a forced restart of the device (quick press and release of volume up, then of volume down, the press and hold of the power button). I did that, it took a few tries tho. It looks a mintue to get back on the wifi, but it seems to be holding. Time will tell if it will stay that way.

They only down side of 160mhz bandwidth is that it is also in the setup in DFS channel spectrum, to reduce interference with other frequencies.

I agree that 80mhz is at 1.2Gbps in theory but in reality it’s like 800-900Mbps. My goal was to get to 1Gbps that my service provider delivered.

Only the iphone 15 Pro models allow you to use 6Ghz channels. I doubt that the people having issues here even have a Router that supports 6Ghz channels.

If the 15Pro tries to find 6Ghz channel router and doesn’t and gives up doing anything is an obvious bug. Our there any settings to disable 6Ghz channel or wifi6e features?

If so, the iphone 15Pro will be no worse than all other iphones running wifi6.

Turning off 160Mhz bandwidth mode should be tried as well.

Each SSID that is detected by your phone can be set for automatically connecting or not. So your other router SSID’s that you don’t want to use will not automatically connect.

My network started with 2.4Ghz so I kept that SSID for older devices. My 80Mhz 5Ghz has a SSID and yet another for my 160Mhz 5Ghz so I picked the SSID for my 160Mhz to automatically connect when in range. The others are only available if I say ok to use them when my phone asks me if I want to.
