I had same issue, it was completely unresponsive. This steps fixed the issue, I was able to reboot. Thanks for this post and Apple, please fix this issue. Thanks.....

It did solve the problems for me thank you so much. I use an iPhone 12 mini.

bit what actually happenes doing this? Is this kind of a reset?

I’m having the same issue on my boyfriend’s phone, luckily the hard shut down worked but his phone is ios 15 and has not recently downloaded the new ios17. Just throwing this out there

If you have a Mac I would highly suggest to download the Apple Configurator to use the revive fonction. I had the same issue yesterday and that was the only thing that worked for me. Good luck!

Has anyone found a solution to this, other than; do what you’ve already done , or plug it into your Mac. (I don’t have a Mac and I’ve restarted many times.)

This doesn't work on an iphone12.

Reset your device.

you have probably damaged your device and the wires and batteries and what ever they are stopped working.

you need a new device

Same last days with my 15. Touch completely "freezed". The only way was to reset to factory settings via itunes trough PC / cable. Now all ok.
