iPhone 15 CarPlay Not Working

My Apple CarPlay worked great on my iPhone 14, and does not work with the new iPhone 15 USB-c. The car only has a USB port, and I’ve tried multiple USB to USB-C cables and none work. What’s going on? It’s a 2023 Mazda CX-30

RESOLVED (1026/2023)

I had the same issue with my 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee with UConnect. I tried 5 cables all known good Power/Data cables.

finally, someone suggested the following and it works!

1. Turn off your phone (Power Down)

2. Make sure Jeep is also off - this might apply to other vehicles with Uconnect

3. Plug phone to jeep USB PORT

4. Turn on Jeep. My phone powered up and Said "carplay finished setup" or something like that

Now you should see Uconnect in the carplay configuration under settings -> general -> carplay..

Sometimes I have to unplug and plug phone back in but this has been working all day

CeeCee237 did you see my reply

I had the same issue with CarPlay not working with my new iPhone 15. I tried a few cables, no changes. I own a Chevy Impala 2018 and I got the idea to reset CarPlay in my Car’s Menu system. Since then I don’t care what cable it is, they ALL work and CarPlay works just fine. Try resetting your CarPlay in your car’s menu system.

For those who haven't been following this discussion, it appears that the main thing is to totally reset your cars CarPlay. Delete ALL of the devices that may be paired to your system, basically make it "Factory default". I had to do this several times to get mine to work, and now it works better than it ever has. It syncs to my iPhone much faster than it used to with my iPhone 11. It works via Bluetooth or the Anker USB-A to USB-C cable. Like I already said, it works way smoother than ever before. In my case, it's an iPhone 15 Pro max and a 2019 BMW.

2023 Mazda CX30 finally after a week and adapters, resetting everything, Apple Support said go to dealer for firmware update… after a week and researching a $5 USB A to C plugged in to car USB A worked. I am with you Apple needs to address this issue I spent roughly $50 extra on cords and adapter after the pricey purchase of the 15 Pro Max … disappointing and way to much work on top of if I would have gone to dealership another useless expensive trip I decided was incorrect advice from Apple Support

every week or so, I post on this thread to remind people that are having difficulties using CarPlay with their new iPhone 15, you must completely reset your cars head unit for it to function properly. You have to find out how to clear out ALL phones that have been paired to your car, and make it as if your car just came off the showroom floor. Since I have done that, my iPhone 15 max connects to CarPlay faster than any iPhone I’ve ever had, it stays connected and all functions work perfectly. My iPhone 11 used to take 20 to 30 seconds to fully connect when I started my car. My iPhone 15 connects in about 10 seconds or less max. Most people that have success, have posted that they have completely cleared their cars head unit of all paired devices and then their iPhone 15 works perfectly.

This also works with other car systems whether you have CarPlay or My Sync or whatever.

In Deutschland bekommst du USB-A auf USB-C Kabel in schwedischen Möbelhäusern. Ziemlich preiswert.

Soooooo after reading all 27 pages and experiencing 3 days of torture and anxiety, I used the procedures and products suggested in these comments and everything is working GREAT again. For those of you still struggling here is a step by step of what I did involving the IPhone 15, a 2022 Toyota Tacoma and ApplePlay

1. I deleted the iPhone 15 from the Tacoma and the truck from the phone (Forget this device)

2. Then I renamed the phone.

3. I then did a reboot of the iPhone and turned off the truck.

4. I plugged in the iPhone with an Anker 310 USB-A to USB-C cable

5. Restarted the truck and IPhone and within seconds both the vehicle and device had me answering questions and allowing this and that!

I hope this helps!!!

I sorted this out for myself, bought new iPhone 15 pro bought a cable usb to usb c and it didn't connect to my car. So I went to the people who installed my aftermarket stereo and he gave me a Genuine Samsung cable and it worked perfectly. Good luck all.

I rang Apple support, they were clueless! Asking me questions like have you had the firmware on your car stereo updated... and other absolutely clueless rubbish.

It's mind blowing that Apple could release their new phones with USB C and to have not bothered to make a cable available or any solution available.
