iPhone 15 CarPlay Not Working

My Apple CarPlay worked great on my iPhone 14, and does not work with the new iPhone 15 USB-c. The car only has a USB port, and I’ve tried multiple USB to USB-C cables and none work. What’s going on? It’s a 2023 Mazda CX-30

Same thing with the 2017 Honda civic and my iPhone 15 Pro Max. I’m honestly disappointed to see that Apple hasn’t addressed this yet. I love this phone but I love CarPlay more, and I might have to switch to something else if this isn’t resolved.

From what the tech told me yesterday, the iGenius or whatever knows about it but they have no clue. He is supposed to get with me tomorrow since he will be back at work. If they still know nothing, Ill just send it back for now. I dont want to wait til I am stuck with it. Considering there seems to be a lot of issues with the phone, I am surprised it got released.

iPhone 15 Pro Max and 2019 BMW M240i same issue while trying over Bluetooth, but it works for me via USB. My car has USB-A, so I am using this USB-A to USB-C cable. Purchased on Amazon.

I can confirm similar issues in my non CarPlay 2016 challenger uconnect media player. I’m using the Anker a-c cables and the connection will drop intermittently. However it seemed to be fairly stable in the CarPlay head unit in my beater truck. I feel like this is something that needs to be addressed in an iOS update. I don’t believe it’s hardware related.

I have a 2021 Nissan Rogue Sport with a USB-A cable. My iPhone 15 audio pipes into Carplay - I can hear GPS instructions and spotify music but do not get my iPhone apps on the car's screen and can't see the GPS when I could see them on my iPhone 12. I'm using BlueTooth but not the cable. I don't have a USB-A to USB-C cable and I don't plan to buy one if CarPlay isn't working

Similar issue for me. I have a 2021 Lexus NX and using an adapter cord for usb to usb-c. CarPlay connects but it is muted. I have to engage Siri to do a task (tell me the time or temp, etc) and then it unmutes and plays just fine. Beyond frustrating but makes me wonder if the new button that used to be only for mute and unmute being multi functional is effecting this. I current have the button set to camera on my iPhone 15 pro max.

I was told the same thing by Apple Support for my Mazda CX-30 and my new iPhone 15 Pro. The rep said that I need to get an Infotainment update for my vehicle.

Mazda told me that it's $145 to update the software and the only way to find out if there is even an update available is to bring the car in. They also said that if there is an update for that, it's not going to be out yet since the iPhone 15 has only been on the market for less than a month now. After purchasing a $1000 phone, now to have to spend $145 just to get CarPlay to work?

I'm waiting on this until I can figure out what the actual problem is. I really don't think it's the vehicle software.

I know the iPhone 15 hasn't been out for very long now, but this is ridiculous! I expected more from Apple.

My iPhone 12 worked just fine with CarPlay.

So my new IPhone 15 didn’t work in my Nissan Juke so I’ve connected it to my wife car Vauxhall mokka and asked me do want to pair so I’ve clicked yes and it’s worked so I’ve took it to my car plug it in and it worked and I was happy 2 hrs later try connecting to the car it didn’t work so definitely something wrong with the software which need sorting out and ASAP or do I need to spend £10000 for a new car to match my phone!!!

I too was having issues with every cord I tried. I ordered 3 different belkin & anker cords plus adapters to try. I have a 2018 Acura tlx with a USB-A wired CarPlay connection. Once plugged in, it would make a sound like it was trying to connect over and over, but never connect. Finally what worked for me was removing the car connection from Bluetooth devices, turning the car off, then turning the car back on. Plugging in the phone with a USB-A to USB-C cord, and the car asked to connect the phone. It worked!

I am going to try this fix tomorrow that another forum member posted here today...

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this works.
