iPhone 15 - Freezing and Glitching Issue

Is it just me or is anyone else experiencing similar issues?

i just got my IPhone 15 Pro Max and for whatever reason while i’m using my apps my screen would sometimes freeze momentarily or freeze indefinitely. I also have trouble pressing options/buttons located in the corner of the screen in some apps. For example, when watching a video in full screen i would have to press the “back” “skip” or the “<“ options more than 3-4 times for it to register my touch. Another example would be when browsing through shopping apps i would have to keep pressing the “back” or “<“ option/button, usually located in the corner of the screen multiple times or even have to end/close the applications altogether. Not sure if this is an issue with the actual iPhone screen not registering the touch or an IOS 17 issue.

This solution is for a different problem. If the poster read @Mo_Magic ‘s original complaint, it’s not the phone freezing, but apps they’re using. I am experiencing this as well. An app will become unresponsive and I’ll have to close and reopen it. My new phone has been active for 24 hours, 15 Pro Max running ios 17.0.2

After the two iOS 17 updates I am now at 17.1 and found that I was still getting the overheating issue. Did not realize my apps were not auto updating Instagram needed to be upgraded as well as a few others pretty much now I’m OK with the phone working.


Now the new glass is really prone to scratches. Don’t wanna comment on trying out whether it’s less fragile

I bought the iPhone 15 Pro Max 1TB for my wife. Her previous phone was a Samsung, and sadly, this one is riddled with issues already mentioned on this thread. Freezes randomly and stops responding to touch. The volume up down buttons don't work when using WhatsApp. There are workarounds, such as killing the app and restarting, or rebooting the phone, but I am quite unhappy with having to do all this with what is pretty much the most expensive phone in the market of any kind. I am just glad that it is still within the return period.

My App directing to a page from the menu is stuck only on iPhone15.

When I press a page in the menu, the App will start running a loading icon and directing to a new page. But when I used iPhone15(iOS17) to do so, the App got stuck, the loading icon just kept running but the App did not jump to the new page. Wait for more than 10 minutes, the App is still the same.

The issue will only be encountered on iPhone15+iOS17, I have tried iPhone14+iOS17 works fine. And iOS11 to iOS16 all are fine.

Does anyone know how to deal with it? Please help!!

I’ve only had my new iPhone for one day and My iPhone 15 Pro Max/iOS 17 is glitchy and every time I open a game apps to play it freezes and won’t go anywhere at all, each and every game app is freezing and glitching, plus I’m getting headaches and also getting nauseous with this device and it’s not ever happened before with any apple devices that I have used in the past, including the iPhone 14 PM, which I will have to get again if Apple doesn’t fix these issues ASAP!!! This phone is way to expensive to be this glitchy and too be causing headaches and nausea when there never was any before this iPhone! I’m sure there will be more issues with this phone as the days go on.

Everyone while you register your experience pls tell us what version of IOS and what version of the app that you were using.


Keep all your APPs updated. Some don't like to do that. Those folks are better not buying a phone until 4 months or so after the release.


also, if you’re buying an app in the App Store, check to see the last date or version of IOS it was updated.


This is a complex ecosystem, and not all vendors of third-party apps are as diligent or have the resources to stay totally current.


After my initial frustrations, similar to all of the ones above, I have not had any problems, but then again, I only use mostly the Apple apps plus Instagram and Adobe apps.

11-9-23 Update:

I’ve had my new iPhone for almost a week now and My iPhone 15 Pro Max/iOS 17.1.1 is still glitchy and every time I open any game app(all my apps are 100% updated. I always update my apps every day I check for updates so the issue is not with the apps not being updated for me) to play them, they let me play a bit and then freeze and won’t go anywhere at all, each and every game app is doing this by freezing and being unresponsive ,also my Gmail app froze up as I was checking my email and I had to close it out and reopen it, this is really becoming annoying and very frustrating. This is a relatively recent issue with the phone, at different times of the day when I am using my phone there can be little blocks of color on the screen in different sections of pictures and website pages and in apps as well (my phone is updated to the latest iOS @17.1.1). These iOS glitches need to be addressed and fixed as this is starting to interfere with day to day use of said new iPhone, I’m still getting headaches and also getting nauseous with this device and it’s not ever happened before with any apple devices that I have used in the past, including the iPhone 14 PM

I upgraded from iphone 11 to the 15 pro max and have had the worst experience with it. Just a google search will freeze my phone completely and won’t allow me to use any other apps. On top of that i can’t even restart it using the volume buttons, i have to manually click shut off through my settings and even then my setting will glitch as well. After paying 1200 for a phone I expect it to work better than my iphone 11 this should be unacceptable and apple should do something to compensate anyone having to deal with these issues. I have to use my phone for my job and all these issues become a huge problem.

Add me to the list. On a call using the speaker option and the screen locked up. I could hear the caller but nothing from my side, voice, touch, buttons would work. After approximately 30 seconds I was able to use the buttons to pull up the shutdown screen. Took a hard restart to get it back up.


15 ProMax, 256GB TiBlue.


I have had intermittent app crashes but they stopped with 17.1.1.

Till now.

Found this thread on google after looking up "iphone 15 pro max glitching" as I am having the same issues listed above, even after restarting the phone there is no response when tapping on things at the top of my screen (i.e "pinned" messages on imessage, apps, pull down menu, etc..). I hope whatever they have going on they can either recall or resend phones for free or like someone has mentioned, a free upgrade when the new one comes out this upcoming year... This phone is too new and expensive for things to be going wrong so soon, I just bought mine less than 2 weeks ago.
