IPhone 15 Pro Max keyboard not registering clicks and some keys are not sensitive

same here, took my phone out of the box a few hours ago and my keyboard typing is all over the place. Some keys are hyper sensitive while I have to tap others 2-3 times before it registers the right key.

ran the update and I’m not seeing any improvement

The keys on my iPhone 15 Pro Max are not registering on certain ones. I have to check spelling sometimes because the backspace, return and microphone keys don’t register when pressed. Have to press hard a couple times. Was there a bug fix issued for this yet?

Nope. I don’t do the slide-text thing. I’m old school.

a simple test I did was count out 20 “L” taps in a row and only get 16 or 15.

also it’s random, and I’ve been using iPhones since the 3S and this is the only phone to do it.

I seriously doubt all the people on this thread just suddenly have all the same issues with all the same keys, on all the same phones. Silly.

How do we get Apple to be aware of this issue?

I cannot even return my phone because it has gone past the usual 30 day return period. Now, the agent I spoke with said I should go to the apple repair store so that they will change the screen or something.

My keyboard splits words as I type, it starts with capital letters in the middle of a word and drops the capital letter down to the next line starting a new sentence. Sometimes it puts one letter on one line, drops down puts next letter capitalized on another line. It is maddening I have to backspace constantly

On second phone and same is happening, today I was on my bank site and had to put in a code they send me and push ok and the ok was on the lower right side, wouldn't go thru...my session timed out and now I'm locked out of my banking lol. Can't make this stuff up

We are in the month of January 2024 and they’re still hasn’t been fixed. You know we use these phones typically for business. Therefore writing an email quickly isn’t happening. Please fix this ASAP to help in the delay of sending messages or using other tools.

same issue with my new IP14. Severá ios versions. Seems not that bad like some of the other comments here , fxample the keyboard is fine. But regularily I miss touches through all kind of apps even the system ones. Definately not OK and definately worse than even a 10x cheaper android phone i had before

I just got my iPhone today and the letters L, P and K seem to need some more pressure but it doesn’t happens every time!

Is this issue resolved yet ? Iam having this problem more noticeably on my 15pm after the ios 17.3 update i guess. I thought it could be my large thumbs and hard skin on its edges must be responsible but doesnt seem so. Alphabet A ,L , back space, shift buttons are the most affected.

If these so called voodoo solutions aren’t working for you Albert it doesn’t mean they are not working for some of us. I personally don’t have this issue anymore with my keyboard after changing some of the settings mentioned hereunder. I’m not sure which one did the trick but it did, and on day 2 after purchase it was gone.

Yes Apple needs to address this unacceptable issue asap but in the meantime just bring your phone back to the store instead of complaining that nobody here is helping you or that we’re making things up.

I’m simply just making a suggestion that I haven’t seen yet and that worked for me. The original topic has nothing to do with Apple not admitting anything, that’s just your take. You don’t need to reply to everyone. You’re not even the OP.

Moving from the iPhone 13 plus to the 15 pro plus and it’s as if I can’t type anymore ( typing the word ‘anymore’ just now comes out as ‘anoymofe’ ) - the keypad lags, freezes and when I try to delete mistakes it freezes and adds other letters. The lagging and mistyping is even worse when sending a picture to an app (messages or WhatsApp) and attempting to type under it.

No issues typing on an iPhone 13 plus … the iPhone 15 plus typing experience is bizarre! (Great phone in every other sense. But the ability to type seamlessly is pretty integral to a working phone!)

Just lending my support in trying to get Apple’s attention. I too experience this issue as written. This issue has been present since I bought this phone in November of 2023.

I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max on iOS 17.3.1 that does not have this issue.

Sometimes the keyboard doesn’t even show up. I’ve had grammar issues for the screen completely going off by itself with whatever I’m working on or looking at a reading.. Unread emails weren’t even registering and it was changing the amounts while I was talking on the phone with Apple within 5 to 10 minutes not even touching my email. I went to the Apple Store second time after the first time they restored all the software and today the guy told me even though I’ve only had my phone two months Apple doesn’t replace phones anymore on their machine then I just have to wait for updates to fix the problems.? I said, but I’m paying for the insurance and sometimes people can’t even hear me talking. They say my voice is going in and out no matter whose Wi-Fi I’m on or cell. I’m very disappointed I used to love Apple my phone.😔
