I just "upgraded" to Mac OS Sonoma 14 on my MacBook Pro M1. Now the mail app version 16 is not loading images. I tried deleting and adding the mailbox, but that did not work.

I finally fixed the problem of mail not loading. The system was in lockdown mode. When I turned it off images started to appear. I don't remember turning it on. The funny thing is Safari was loading images. If you have the same problem Apple > System Settings ... > Privacy & Security scroll down to the bottom, and you'll see Lockdown Mode, turn it off.

Actually having just checked, my email graphics are loading correctly now and I can proudly say I did nothing - whatever was causing it has corrected itself.
