Apple Pay on Apple Watch Ultra 2 not working while Hand Gestures are enabled with Assistive Touch - Watch OS 10

It works if you turn off the "Enable Confirm with AssistiveTouch" in the watch. Settings -> Accessibillity -> AssistiveTouch -> Enable Confirm with AssistiveTouch

After you turn off “Confirm with Assistive Touch” power down you Apple Watch Ultra and restart. Wait till cards are updated and Walla! You are good to go. I had the same issue and even after turning off “Confirm with Assistive Touch” it still did not work. I powered down the Watch and restart and it was good as new.

I finally figured it out for me. If im on the watch app on my phone if i turn off assistive touch it will automatically turn it back on a few seconds later. I have to go to the settings app on my watch itself THEN turn off everything under assistive touch. Now that double tap launched, that is working as it should and so is apply pay now too.

I have the same problem after I test the hand gestures but I think it change the settings "Enable Confirm with AssistiveTouch".

Accessibillity -> AssistiveTouch -> Enable Confirm with AssistiveTouch

Is that set for you? If set try to disable the settings...

I have not test yet...

I performed a reset, reinitialize the watch.. it’is working now!

I had the same issue… it only worked when I turned off SCREEN TIME control.

Have you updated both your iPhone and Ultra to latest OS? If not, that may be the fix. If you have updated and the issue persists, please unpair your iPhone and Ultra, restart each device, then pair them again.

Thanks Jr4220, I was following all of the “turn off” advise to no avail. I followed your advice and powered down. My watch came up I received a “updating card” message.

When my card came up it had the “Hold near Reader” above the card. Thanks again

Simple to fix just keep you watch passcode on and card will work.

it is a security feature if passcode is off then card want work.

the watch gat a passcode like the iPhone to unlock it and if you switch off passcode options then you can’t use Apple Pay on watches so yo I need to keep the fonction enable and then set up card and you good to go.

This has nothing to do with gestures. Your watch is less than a year old and under warranty. You can try a forced restart and if that doesn’t resolve the issue please call Apple Care at 1-800-MY-APPLE

Yes! It worked! It seems that the Apple Watch settings were overriding the settings we made in the Watch app on the iPhone.

This is also happening with my Ultra 2. I disable "Enable Confirmation with AssistiveTouch" and it turns on by itself. I can't pay anything with my watch.
