Monterey 12.7 update has broken my ability to print from my MacBook Pro

The Monterey 12.7 update has broken my ability to print from my MacBook Pro (13,2) to an Epson ET-3750 printer.


Following the system update, the "Epson software updater" was declared incompatible by MacOS.


I've reinstalled all Epson software after downloading the latest available versions from Epson support page.


When I try to add the printer through the System Prefs, I get the message that "an error prevents the computer to connect to the EPSON ET-3750 Series._ipps._tcp.local".


Does anybody have any clue to help me solve this?


(FYI: I have other Mac computers linked to the same LAN and using the same printer without any problem!)

If available, you need to get a Monterey compatible driver from the Epson website. Not all software packages contain a driver, some are file handlers, photo album type apps and so forth.


All computers are different ... even duplicates. You cannot use one Mac to diagnose an issue on another.

Hi,


The latest drivers for macOS 12 Monterey can be found here:

However, the Epson ET-3750 is also listed as a supported printer in About AirPrint - Apple Support (September 18, 2023). An AirPrint printer would be compatible with macOS, and can be used without extra drivers provided that the printer and the Mac are connected to the same network. AirPrint works with wireless (Wi-Fi) or wired (Ethernet) network connections, so you could choose to wire the ET-3750 to one of the LAN ports of a Wi-Fi router (instead of connecting the printer wirelessly).


Drivers from the printer manufacturer may or may not offer additional functionality.


If necessary, reset the Mac printing system and re-add the printer.

If nothing else works, you may want to try a full power-cycle procedure:

Power off the Wi-Fi router, the printer, the Macs, any iPads and iPhones, and all other computers/devices. Wait two to three minutes. Power on the router. Wait two to three minutes. Power on the printer. Wait a minute or two. Power on the Macs. Power on any iPads and iPhones. Finally, power on all other computers/devices.


As always, make sure that you have backup copies of all important files before testing anything.
