Camera not genuine notification on my iPhone

Yes I would understand that if the phone is a year or 2 old. This is brand new out of the box with this issue. Even after the update. You should stand behind your quality for a new item and exchange it. I am 100 miles from an Apple Store.

I just went to the apple technician today and was told that I need full replacement which would cost $599. I have iphone 13 promax. Im beyond frustrated! My phone have no any other issues besides this!

Yes, one part can fail even if there is nothing else wrong. I had a car that needed the catalytic converter replaced. The fact that other than that the car was fine didn't change anything.

I understand that. But for $599? its literally asking me to buy a whole new engine for my car not just a catalytic converter. When I asked the tech whats wrong they said they cant dont exactly know but to fix it they have to replace the whole unit.

My phone and my daughter’s phone both did this today. Too much of a coincidence. This is a software issue and APPLE needs to fix it. I’m a bit concerned that I don’t see any comments from people who got the issue fixed by Apple, only people who were going to be charged a lot of money. This is a racket.

Add me to the list. I have a 14 pro. Same issue after a random software update. I have done many things to troubleshoot and nothing works. Can’t see getting a new phone if there is no telling that the new phone will not have the same issue after a software update etc. So annoying. Pray that a future update fixes the problem.

I have been facing the same issue for the past few days. I have a 13 PRO MAX that has never been opened or had any other issues. It seems like this is a problem that's recently gotten more and more common.

I have this issue now too and took my phone to both Verizon and Apple and they offered to send my phone off for weeks to fix it. I’m supposed to go without a phone to get this inspected, and I have never altered my phone. It’s complete donkey crud.

dealing with the same message. Why when a new iPhone releases this is an issue. I have a 13 pro. Never had an issue. Now my camera won’t take photos in .5 and the rear camera will just blank out. They want 199 to repair. But it’s no external damage. I shouldn’t have to pay that. That’s crazy

Whether or not the phone has external damage has nothing to do with whether or not you have to pay for the repair. Components fail even with out external damage. And, if the phone is out of warranty, you're responsible for repair. There's nothing crazy about it.

Apple Lenox in Atlanta asked me $279 +taxes to repair a camera not broken! What a shame! I asked if they could open and see if the connector was loose and if the camera is good which I bet my kid it is, they could put it back in and they said “if we open it we will have to change it and charge you”. It’s like bringing your vehicle to the mechanic for a loose screw and not having the choice to say yes or no when he wants to force me to replace the whole engine!! Shame on you Apple, I will not replace any product, already quit on your watch and computer, iPhone is next.

Having the same issue as described by all. After a recent update the message appears. Never had any type of replacement and purchased new through T-Mobile. I shouldn't have to wait in line or par any fees for a product that was working fine until recent update. This might make me make the switch away from Apple.

This literally just happened to me today. It was working fine a few minutes ago… then the camera froze, and I had to restart my phone and now a pop up is saying my camera isn’t genuine and I lost most of the functions of the camera including the .5 function. This is definitely an Apple issue. I haven’t dropped it, it’s in fantastic condition and like I said, it was just working and then fritzed.

My iPhone 13 Pro Max is doing the exact same thing. My camera won’t work nor my video. I can use portrait mode and cinematic video but not regular. Says I do not have a genuine apple camera installed which is not true. Never have I had to have anything fixed or replaced. What’s the fix?

You really really think that having your customer base lose faith in the reliability of their product is worth losing millions if not billions in sales when you customer base loses faith and buys a samsung ?? . I think you read hat is too tight .. not everything is a conspiracy jethro
