Hey, I’m having the same issue. Well except now I can’t use my ultra lens so I can’t zoom out to .05 like I use to. I went to the Apple Store and they quoted 199 but THIS IS NOT MY FAULT THIS IS AN APPLE ISSUE I didn’t damage my phone or anything so I am very upset!

I just went to the apple technician today and was told that I need full replacement which would cost $599. I have iphone 13 promax. Im beyond frustrated! My phone have no any other issues besides this!

Yes, one part can fail even if there is nothing else wrong. I had a car that needed the catalytic converter replaced. The fact that other than that the car was fine didn't change anything.

Having the same not a genuine apple part warning for my camera.

went to apple and they quoted a $500 fix for my 13pro that’s not even two years yet.

I take good care of my phone and it’s never been dropped or been in water.

genius bar suggested it’s from vibrations. 😡

This is clearly an apple issue they should be covering, but they prefer you go buy a new phone or pay for hefty repairs.

We use iPhones with In-House apps to support our production, and one of the 12 Pro's produces the same behavior. It was shut down for a night, and after turning it back on in the morning this alert came.
The device never has been opened or repaired. The camera works partially, but it does not support all three cameras.
Could someone tell, why it happened after the restart?
It seems like a software issue for me.
The device is having the latest iOS Version - 17.5.1.

That warning can also mean that the camera hardware has failed for some reason. That can happen at any time. Contact Apple for further assistance:

The message that you see will appear if diagnostics on the phone detects a potential problem with the camera, even if the camera is original. It might also be a false alarm.

Make an appointment at the Apple Store or take the phone to an authorized Apple service shop to let them run some checks and tests on the phone.

You can find a list of authorized service shops in your area using the link just below:

This just happened to my friend's phone, but she dropped it pretty hard. The rear camera stopped working, so I did a double-hard reset for her (2 x forced restarts by tapping volume up, then volume down, then holding the power button down until the screen turns off, and the Apple logo shows).

After the restart, this message appeared. So it can also be triggered if your phone was dropped, and it must cause a hardware connection issue.

I’ve had a similar experience to the above, but my camera is showing that there may be a fault but I’m not experiencing any issues. However, Apple and Genius Bar were perfectly prepared to give me no clear diagnosis of the problem but make me replace the camera and charge of $300 Australian.

given that I can see no benefit in doing that because there’s probably not a fault at least not one that’s affecting me I don’t understand how or why I would go through a raising my phone and paying $300 for the privilege of an error message that is questionable anyway.

I’ve had the same thing happen twice. Went to apple, paid the over price bill to give me a replacement using apple care. Within 6 months it’s telling me my camera isn’t genuine.

Everywhere I look there’s an article about these new sensors they are using.

To me, this seems like all they want is a reason to charge and make money off a simple software fix. It’s completely unethical
