How do I access and find Control Center on my watch?
Momentarily press and release the flat oval side button

NOT the round, rotating Digital Crown!

Thank you. I do not know why Apple decided to hide without directions many of the old functions that I used almost everyday.

I am totally not happy with their change. Very poor decision!!!

I totally agree. Eliminating the swipe up is frustrating. I will go with a much better non-apple watch with many more features next. The ONLY reason for the Apple version is its ease of use. Horrible tech and less options than a much cheaper watch.

The find my phone function is literally the watch function that I have used most frequently since getting the watch. It’s actually one of the 2 functions why I even bothered to get the watch in the first place. Adding extra steps to find this function in buried menus was a TERRIBLE DECISION. I’m an Apple die-hard but this has become a daily infuriation, making me curse Apple every time I misplace my phone. PLEASE FIX THIS. Why the news app displaced it in that easy up-swipe I don’t know- who is actually reading long news stories on their watch face? Ridiculous.
Swipe-up vs press a button is the same number of steps. See other replies in this thread for details.
I am not going to argue that changing the UI after 10 years was a good idea, and it did catch a very large number of users by surprise, plus created a lot of frustration.

Thank you so much. I was in a panic they took the feature away. I think it’s a dumb update, especially without notifying users. My daughter had a medical emergency and I couldn’t find my phone because they changed the location feature. I wish they wouldn’t mess with things that aren’t broken

Your latest update made it a two-step function to find my phone with my watch. You should go back to the old way for us older people!
It's exactly the same number of steps. Before, it was swipe then tap. Now, it's tap then tap.

BAD CHOICE APPLE
No, EXCELLENT CHOICE, APPLE. For the first time you can open the Control Center from ANY app that is currently using the screen (such as Workouts, Weather or Music). With the old swipe up you HAD to be on a clock face screen. And pressing a button is the same number of steps as swiping up, so there is no valid argument that the old way was “easier”. Actually, the new way is easier.

I hate this change! I can do it the other way but it is not nearly as easy and the chime continues to blare instead of just doing one sequence of music.
I lost the iPhone button on my watch after the upgrade
