Why is the find my iphone button gone from my apple watch after the new IOS was installed.
Have to go find my device app, look for my iphone icon, play sound (which takes over a minute to play the sound).
Please bring back the slide up from my apple watch and install the button back.

I'm so tired of the complaining and whining about this feature change which is now months old and people are still coming here asking, where is it? where is it? or complaining that it's less convenient or impossible to find, blah-blah-blah. Time to leave this thread; nothing more to say.
I have twice written Apple that I am pleased with the new placement of the Find My Phone feature. It is indeed an improvement, on every level. I'm glad the latest update of a week or so ago didn't change it back. Apple got it right.
See ya!
IdrisSeabright, Don't forget the Australia does not have ECG and Apple is an evil, money grabbing company for not enabling it. That thread lasted at least 2 years, because that was the way the laws in their country were written, and Apple could not enable ECG until the laws were changed.
pcniles, withdrawing from a thread is and approach that many of use have done, especially when the thread only has 1 user being helped and they have become obstinate and unwilling to accept any suggestions posted. Those posts generally do not run hundreds of posts and it generally consists of the person not accepting help, and a half dozen volunteers trying different approaches to provide help. After a few days, most of the volunteers just give up and unfollow the thread.
But threads like this still have users that seriously do not know how to proceed, and they are so new to the discussions forums that they do not think to look at previous posts in the same thread for the solution. And it is not worth admonishing them to look at previous threads, as many of them are drive-by users, in that they are here for this 1 thing, and they may never come back to the forums again, or at least not for years.
Yes, we also get the doom and gloom posts, but we are still getting the "I need help" posts, and it is for those users that many of use still stay in a thread like this.
We either ignore the negative posts, or point them to Feedback - Watch - Apple, or in some cases report the post to the moderators (the really nasty offensive ones).

Apple does not read this user-to-user technical support forum for feedback.
But you can send Apple feedback via:
If enough users send feedback, it is more likely a decision maker will see it, and maybe take action.
Getting the press and release timing just right can be an issue. You can make it more reliable by changing:
Settings -> Accessibility -> Side Button Click Speed
“Side Button Click Speed” can adjust the press and release timing, so you get the Control Center display every time. Adjusting The “Side Button Click Speed” is also useful for Apple Pay’s double press and release. There is “Default” (sub second timing of needed), “Slow” (up to a second between press and release), and “Slowest” (up to 2 seconds between press and release). I like the “Slow” setting.
NOTE: Slow and Slowest settings do not mean you have to wait a full second or 2 seconds between press and release. It just means you do not need to be super fast.
Apple Watch -> Settings -> Accessibility -> AssistiveTouch can be used to access things like:
o Control Center
o Apple Pay
o Emergency Services and the Power Off icon (labeled “Hold Side Button”)
o and many other things...
Use AssistiveTouch on Apple Watch - Apple Support

i miss that swipe and play the sound button SO much! it was the feature that got me to get the **** watch in the first place!! truly, i saw someone do it and i was like, oh that’s gonna save me 10 minutes a day! and now it’s gone….
i miss the percentage of battery on that little swipe up screen as well…
oh, the good old days…
It is all explained here:

The Control Center was moved from swipe up to the oval button on the right side of the phone. Just press the button once quickly. It is all explained here:

note to Apple -1) PLEASE make it an easier option to have control centre on a screen swipe rather than button push for those of us in disabled community without the ‘pushing small button’ functionality!
See BobHarris's posts in this thread for information on some accessbiltiy options:

I hate what you did changing my I watch!!!! Where the heck is find my phone???????
Thank you for answering this in a way I could understand. Seriously. No one else mentioned the slight tap. Updates seem to happen much more frequently and a lot of changes occur.
It's still there, to access control center. Just press the side button on your Apple Watch.
I just submitted the feedback and requested they change this beloved feature back! The more people request the more chance we will get that feature back.

Very frustrated with the new software upgrade, can't easily silence the phone, can't activate the control center - nothing happens after press and release the flat oval side button!!! Can't find where I can locate my phone which is seriously needed on a daily basis. This makes my apple watch useless. How can I get to the locate my phone without using the side button? it is not in settings...???
What do you mean when you say nothing happens when you quickly press and release this button
Thanks. This is the actual solution.
Thanks Bob for the news about the button on the side to locate the control panel.
The updates has been horrible… never again will I up date … I’m so unhappy with my watch now … even thinking about GIVING IT AWAY
I agree I need that button. I use it every day!!!and no it does not appear on my watch using the second side button!!
