Same issue. On Windows 11 (build 22621) Suface Book 2, iTunes 12.13.1.3 from App Store. Using USB-C cable provided with phone by Apple. PC can see iPhone as a drive, but I can't get iTunes to recognize it. Any help would be appreciated.
Just bought an iPhone 15 Pro and put it to iTune to backup but then totally goes into 'hang' mode.
Apple Support, please look into this asap. Thank you.
The original cable can be used for data transfer. If you plug it into a macbook, it'll be able to recognize your iPhone 15 Pro.
The only thing I've yet to try now is to use another computer to try. If it still doesn't detect then I am very sure its an iPhone issue.
Same here. New iPhone 15 that only came with USB-C to USB-C cable. My pc only has USB-A. I was using a cable from an air purifier because of not having a USB-C to USB-A cable. I read the advice here and went searching in my box of old cables etc. and found an old, very short USB-C to USB-A cable from who knows what ancient device my daughter or I had, and it works! Before with the other cable, the pc wasn't even aware of my phone being plugged in but it charged it no problem. Glad I looked through my old tech stuff before paying more money. Even on the Apple site, the only correct cable they have says "charging cable," so I don't trust that it would work for backups. Good luck, everyone.
Solved!!!
I had the same issue when using the usb c cable. However, I had purchased a lightning to usb c adapter... https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0CYCNJB3W/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 So, I plugged a usb c to lightning cable into my computer then used the lightning to usb c adapter and itunes recognized my phone!
When I originally had plugged my phone into my computer using the usb c cable, it gave me a message saying it didn't have enough power for my phone. I think the adapter lowers/ slows the power transfer and somehow made it work!
I have an iphone 15 pro, using Windows 11 on a 4-5 year old mid-level laptop.

What version of Windows are you running? Iphone15 requires Windows 10 or higher according to their specifications.

thankyou, yes that was the issue. I was using a cheap cable only used for charging a kids toy. Must use good cable.
Yeah this worked for me.
My iPhone 15 is not connecting in pc or car by data cable
I found that Apple devices works. And also works better. I had this same issue.
I bought a cord off Amazon and it worked the first time, but hadn't worked since. I used my cord for my Playstation controller and it worked.
I faced the same issue - download Apple Music and Apple Devices. Problem solved, with a little work! iTunes isn’t really supported for music any longer.
Hey EJ_LSA,
I don't see those options in my iPhone 15 IOS 17.5.1 . Please check again for me - I'm having no luck connecting phone to PC either.
Bad cables. Many USB-C cables will charge a phone, but do not properly support data transfer and will not mount your phone onto the desktop. Make sure you have a good cable.
