SG*OriginalPlus subscription charge? - Apple Pay Wallet

I received an emailed receipt for £29.99 from SG Original Plus for a subscription i never ordered. my current account was debited £29.99. the transaction appears in my apple pay wallet but I have no idea how it happened. Does anyone have any suggestions? Somehow, this company had my email address, and the receipt they sent me by email specified that I had purchased a subscription for one month - with a start and end date. I have no idea where this all came from. I didn't seek out this company - I have no interest or knowledge in or of them, and I never gave any personal details to them at all - or purchase instructions. However, according to the payment history in my Apple Wallet, I payed £29.99 to them at 12.59 on 5th Oct but I wasn't even using my phone at this time. What is going on?

Same happened to me…. Changing your card doesn’t suffice… they still tried to take the £29.99 from my new card even before i received it in the post and activated it! All because I unknowingly subscribed when I hit a green ‘start’ button on another application that I use regularly. It was a pop up advertisement… The ONLY way is to cancel the subscription… website ‘Original Plus’ (not SG original plus) and get into your profile to manage your account and cancel. Your bank will not be able to block payments as we have unwittingly authorised them in the first instance … first time was for 50p which they immediately refunded. I have now finally received my first email from them saying sorry to see you go…. Never received one in the first instance to confirm my subscription. All very devious and scary!

hi, I am the original poster on this thread. Your experience maps mine (same company name etc). In fact, what I hadn’t realised was that I had received an email a week earlier confirming my free trial subscription for a week, so when I got charged £29.99 it was the start of the paid subscription. I emailed SG original and received a detailed reply insisting that I could only have been charged any money if I had supplied all the information myself. In other words- it’s all my fault. But I have no knowledge or memory of doing such a thing and have never sought their services ever. I will put their reply on this thread

Same problem as described here. £29.99 charged to my bank account for a subscription service that I did not and do not want! When I spotted it as a 'pending card transaction' I phoned my bank [First Direct] to stop payment but they refused to do so saying that I was complicit in agreeing to this transaction! Unbeknown to me, SG Originalplus sent me an email stating that I had agreed to this monthly payment after a free trial period but I never saw this email as quite rightly, it was automatically diverted straight into my 'Junk' and I do not check that every day! I will be escalating a complaint to First Direct!

I have since worked out from the dates and times that somehow this company got my bank and email details when I paid for parking at a railway station carpark using the APCOA App, which I know is quite a well known private car parking firm but there again, all private carparking firms appear to be crooks!!

I am about to try and get a refund but do not hold out much hope. There is no doubt in my mind that this is defiantly a scam although I would go so far as to to say a dishonest fraud!

Ok, I think I worked the scan out now, ps,

i have my money back and have reported this outfit with all relevant details to the UK government fraud team, who have now confirmed they are actioning.

you search Google for a payment site, theirs is top of Google’s list of returned sites, parking etc. you klick on the Google link and then their signup page , where it’s very misleading , you think you paid for parking , ULEZ in the uk , but they have your details and claim you signed up officially.

i have attached a picture that shows their contact email address, and they do monitor this address, also shows thier uk postal address.

ps, big shout out to first direct bank, you nailed this, many thanks

Contact your bank immediately and report the fraud!

By doing this I then funnily enough received an email from informing me that my ‘subscription had been cancelled’

If in UK

You will also need to report this matter to Trading Standards via 08082231133 for England or via

You should also report via Action Fraud via

I wonder how many people are not noticing this amount of money coming out each month!

They are committing Mass Fraud

I HAVE SPOKEN TO MY BANK A SECOND TIME ; After seeing so many people complaining about unauthorised funds coming out of their bank via Apple Wallet to SG*OriginalPlus of £29.99 to make my Bank Co-op aware of the number of people who have had their banks plundered by this Company. I’ve received No emails, text or anything - just a notification via my Wallet to say the money had gone from

my bank - my bank are going to investigate now they are aware there are so many people in this scam, and I May get my money bank, from the Bank. Hope this helps. Ring your Bank a SECOND time and let them know how many people have been affected.

I had to research all my finances and accounts . Then I informed my bank and cancelled my bank card. The bank said they would refund the two payments made.

I understand that my information might have been obtained by an Apple Pay scam with asking for a refundable deposit or a Car Park Payment by card. There are such a lot of immoral people about . I hope karma burns them!
