iPhone 15 Pro Max black screen

The same story is here . In a way I am glad to see it’s not only my issue . But it doesn’t make me feel any better about my new IPhone15 Pro Max purchase !

I was so excited to get it , just two weeks ago … until this Black Screen problem start happening repeatedly in a morning , after charging .

I am thinking to take it back … it’s not only annoying , like some mentioned in this blog , but THIS PHONE IS UNRELIABLE !

I had this exact same issue happen to me just now a few minutes ago which led me here. Once my screen started randomly working again I searched this issue up because this is the second time this happened to me since I traded in my iPhone 12 Pro for the iPhone 15 pro max during thanksgiving week. I had to use my Apple Watch to text my boyfriend and friends for help because it’s too early for Apple support. Luckily my screen randomly started working, but I tried pressing the volume buttons and holding down the side button and nothing happened. It was so frustrating and I was freaking out because I have a doctor appointment at 10am with a specialist, so I needed my directions to know how to get there and it’s currently 4:48am as I am typing this. They really need to fix this issue because this day and age we really rely on our phones for many things. It honestly made my Apple Watch glitch a little when I first went into it to try calling Apple support from the watch, but then the Apple Watch settled and started working. It was just so weird.

Thank you lauchainia for the volume tip! I just received my phone a month ago after waiting 2 months on back order and this has happened a few times already, plus on the internet as well. The internet I figured out with the privacy tab on the bottom next to the regular tabs I use, but I never touched it. I woke up like it & did an update. It's like every time there's an update, there's an issue with this phone & it's past the 30 days for me to just give it back to them bcz I'm so tired of all of this! I waited to do an upgrade so everyone else could & had the oldest phone (iphone 11pro max so I didn't even qualify for the $1k trade in bcz "it was too old", which it was still in perfect condition & my nieces just both bought the basic iphone 11 so it's still wanted by ppl!) & have been a customer for 28 years! But this one is driving me crazy and idk why 'I' should be the one always having to 'fix' it!

APPLE NEEDS TO STEP UP THEIR GAME & FIX THESE GLITCHES!

(I used to always upgrade when new iphones came out before these 3 yr contracts started & now they're so different by the time that you get to & idk if they were ready for this launch since I have never had so many problems in such a short time span?!? I'll switch to Google or Samsung and learn their operating systems if Apple can't get it together!

This happened to me two weeks ago. it happened in the middle of the night about 2 AM. I was going to charge it when I realized the screen was black. I did all the things set to do volume up volume down reset with the volume and the right side button turned on waited forever with the two buttons pressed nothing happened. I could hear vibrations and a book that I had been reading was going on and on, and I could turn the volume up or down, but I could not turn off the book, the screen remained black for seven hours. I was going to call Apple in the morning when the screen came on again.

I am worried that this will happen the day. I am about to fly because I will not be able to turn airplane mode on as I have no control over the phone.

Or if I’m using the phone as a GPS in a strange location and this happens and then I cannot use it and I don’t even have a phone because when it’s black you cannot use it as a phone so it’s pretty much a useless piece of equipment!!

This never happened to my iPhone 13 Pro Max. I’m thinking I would like to return this phone and get back my 13 Pro Max that I had traded in but unfortunately I don’t think that would be possible as I traded in my phone to the carrier.

Have any of you had the black screen for seven hours or longer? This is not only frustrating it is scary because I do not like to be in a strange place without a phone and I cannot turn on airplane mode before I get on the plane. So if this happens before I take a flight, I guess I should leave this phone at home.. imagine paying so much for a piece of junk!!!

I don’t use a Mag Safe dock to charge my phone. I just use the USBC charger.

my phone is always horizontal and yet this happened to my iPhone 15 PM.

when it happened, nothing worked. Volume up, down, right side button, Siri… nothing! For 7 hours it was black and then it suddenly came on.

My iphone15 plus screen i bought last month just blacks out for no reason. I can hear through headphones that its still on and functioning but no amount of pressing buttons or volume controls brings it back. I charge mine via a cable.

If I wait until the battery is completely dead and then recharge it the screen comes back after 5 minutes. I cannot risk pressing side buttons or trying to shut it down without a screen as i fear its too easy to trigger the emergency call sequence.

My problem is that my train tickets were in the Apple wallet which i couldnt show so i ended up paying another £215 to GWR !!! Had this been my flight tickets it would have cost an irrecoverable £2,000 so i because of this phones fault its no longer possibe to use or trust apple wallet !!!

my iphone15 pro max did the same thing! I did the reset on the first time. But it didn’t reset on the second time. I am out of town will have to bring it in. I heard there is a problem with this phone battery if it is made in India?

When will Apple fix this issue?

I replaced my first iPhone 15 pro max, it got this issue. But the replacement also has it.

Does Apple aware of this?

It happens to me whether using magesafe to charge it or using usb-c to charge it.

Me too. Brand new iPhone 15 Pro Max. After the first night I had it home and charing on an Apple Mag Safe charger the phone wouldn't wake up, although my alarms went off.

The up volume - down volume - hold power sequence worked to restart for me but it's kind of annoying that after spending so much a problem like this happens on a new phone.

The iPhone Xs Max I replaced with this new phone never had this issue - I had that phone for years.

iPhone 15 Pro Max. Wireless charger= black screen in the morning. Plugged into a USB-C charging cable=black screen in the morning. Only way to get the screen back is a forced reset. APPLE, THIS IS A PROBLEM

I have the same issue, put the phone on charger overnight, woke up by a black screen. I can feel the vibration when I press the buttons and hear Siri, but can't see anything.

Also used reset to solve the problem.

so many months later, this is STILL a thing?? I have had my iPhone pro max 15 for about a month. This week, I am in North Dakota for a football visit for my son and I woke up to a black screen. Quick up and down on volume and then hold power til the Apple came up. Thank God for this forum and all of you!

I have the same issue this morning after charging a night. The screen went black and finally I come to this thread. So scary!!! I am surprised so many ppl got the same problem but Apple still turn a blind eye to it.

I have also same issue I got new phone 15 pro max, everything is fine but his screen issue, screen i black not working few days before same issue but suddenly start working but today whole day screen black, phones coming but I can’t receive screen still black how can fix this issue I’m feel not good very expensive phone but not working, I need help for this problem thanks

It also happened to me.

First, I pressed every button on both sides, but it didn't work. An hour later, I tried again, but it still didn't show anything. Then I used my watch to hang up a friend's call, but the screen remained black. After a few minutes, a friend called again. I hung up using the watch, and the screen came back on.
