My phone has gone black while charging the last two nights. It will ring, sounds can be heard but the screen will not wake up. Had to press/release the volume up & down button then the on button to turn it back on. The phone works fine all during the day. What’s causing this?!?

Happening to me too! I just got my 15 pro max phone a little over a week ago. I’m on vacation in New Orleans…woke up this morning after using my apple mag safe charger overnight to a black screen!! Woke up my husband after trying everything to figure it out. His 15 (not pro max) was on his Apple MagSafe charger all night and his is fine! We could feel the vibrations on my phone so knew it was on but the screen was pitch black. I ended up doing a reset using the volume up, down and holding power button til it reset and came back on. When is this being fixed?? When we get back home, do I need to go to an Apple Store and exchange this phone now?! Ugghhh. So frustrating.
Can confirm this happens even without a wireless charger. Just happened to me today. My phone was plugged into the charger provided with the phone purchase. Very concerning.
My Screen went black for 2 days. I saw Apple Community to ask Siri to restart Device
Voila. It worked. Apple pie needs fix this It happens when I leave in charger overnight

I have also had this experience. Although mine was on a horizontal clock charger and took over an hour for the screen to start working.
My iphone15 screen went dark. I have followed directions and still does not turn on
Mine was plugged into the USB C charger laying flat on a table. I found it with a black screen at 1:20 am and it did not resolve until 6:30 am!
Does Apple aware of this issue?

Same issue 2 of the last 7 nights. Switching from a USB charger to wireless charger for a minute seems to turn the screen on.
I just had the exact same experience. Mine is iPhone 15 pro. Woke up to a black screen phone on charger. It turn up after hard reset as others mentioned. ☺️
i have an iPhone 15 pro max, it has exactly the same problem! It happens twice already. The screen is black after charging in the morning. Press the buttons, no use . After few minutes, wakes up.

Yeah same I putted my iPhone 15 on the charger and it turned on with a half black screen I have the brand new iPhone 15 normal the 2 camera one I encountered the same issue but it went away top iPhone 15 issues solution and more!
I would call because it is not something unique to your phone. My iPhone 15 Pro Max has just started doing this after a month of having it with no problems. And last year the exact thing happened on my new 14 Pro Max. It is a software issue And has nothing to do with how you charge your phone. As I recall, it had something to do with the wake function on the iPhone and affected just some not all iPhones so the resolution was slow in coming.
This morning I experienced the same issue. Phone seemded to work (by the sound of it and action button (light on), but screen remained pitch black after night charging with cable that came with iPhone Pro 15 and standard Apple charger. Apple software fully up to date! I'll contact Apple for replacing my iPhone (its 14 days old so have the right to return in Europe) if there is no quick fix. Please reply Apple, this seems to become a common issue reading alle these comments with same issue!
