Whatsapp preview images not working

ios 16.4 here. Also experiencing the same issue. This is not related to ios 17. I had noticed the issue after updating my whatsapp a few weeks ago.

Just updated to whatsapp version 23.23.79 and it now works.

All good now, finally got update 23.23 and lockscreen images viewable again

You only have to update the Whatsapp App, get the latest version, i just did and it worked!

I just updated my whats app few mins ago and it seems the issue is fixed , i had raised many tickets with whats app , thank god they fixed it , it was annoying, so it was a whats app bug and not IOS 17 bug

Restart your phone and it works. But this is temporary as you need to restart your phone whenever the problem arises

For me, it's only on whatsapp as far as I checked. Emails are being loaded properly in the preview window.

I had ios 15 I think, did the update to 16 something, still didn't solve this issue.

It happened after a quick message about whatsapp update I had to do (don't remember I've seen any previous notification about it) around the 25th, and since this update - it stopped loading the previews.

Yes it's since 17.03. Still is a problem now. Updated to 17.1 didn't solve this too. Uninstalled and installed still no luck. Stuck at loading without any result until screen auto locks. :(

for me as well it's only on WhatsApp. I can still preview emails.

I’ve tried updating to ios 17 maybe this would be fixed but nothing happened and it’s really frustrating!

This has happened to me. I deleted WhatsApp and reinstalled - it did work for like gif but then stopped working. Reset the phone, changed the notification settings. Nothing will work. I’m glad it’s not just me but would be good to have this sorted. I thought the IOS update would help but nothing. Sad times.

Then let whatsapp know, it a sad time for you that their app isn't working correctly.

The issue doesn't just affect Whatsapp.

It occurs with any preview that requires content loading, for example Mail.

I would say it's definitely an iOS bug.

THIS IS an Apple issue, NOT a Whatsapp issue.
