Apple Watch Ultra battery draining while on charge after updating to OS 10.1

I have the same issue, my watch use to go 2 days without charging and I can’t even wear it for & hours now without the battery dying. It’s current 1:06pm EST and I put my watch on at 9:00am and my watch is already at 63% it’s never died this quick before.

I have a Series 6 as well. I contacted Apple Support as directed, and was told that I need to wait 72 hours for all the background apps to update(strong whiff of BS here). Since then, it has only gotten worse. When it is fully charged to 100%, the battery is dead within 3 hours. I put it on to charge last night at 10PM, and when I checked it again this afternoon, it had only charged to 65%. I'm going to put it away until they have a fix before the battery is ruined.

Apple, you need to FIX THIS NOW.

Same here! My ultra would normally last me about 4 days after the updater not even six hours into my shift and my watch went from 100 percent to 14 percent and i have the brightest low and always on OFF

My Ultra series 1, froze for 30 mins couldn’t reboot. Finally it rebooted and froze 3 more times. I can’t believe this happened to me. I scheduled an Apple appointment for Sunday, my watch is draining so badly, it’s kinda a waste to wear. I am now afraid 😱 to update. Thanks 🍏 I know there gonna make me reset and unpair my watch from phone

Not sure this is Apples fault. The solution seems to be third part apps. Especially, Moby Face. Developers should update their apps. With that said, any app that’s killing the watches like this Apple should pull it out of the store until it’s updated.

So after updating to 10.1 my battery life on both my Ultra and Series 5 plummeted. My Series 5 went from 100% charge to 5% in 3 hours. My Ultra would not charge fully Friday, and Saturday I tried a hard restart and it’s became a brick. Stuck at the Apple logo… I have tried a hard restart several times and it just goes back to the logo. I have tried charging for a few hours and hard restart and same result.

This is wild. I had a 5+ year-old Apple Watch SE that worked fine (despite having a busted side button). Like a good little Apple customer, I keep my software updated and the 10.1 update murdered the poor thing. I figured after five years, it just gave up the ghost. I went up to the Apple store and bought a brand new Ultra 2 and the thing dies after a couple hours. I've shut everything off. It's essentially a pretty brick on my wrist that drains 15% just by walking a mile.

I really hope they rush a patch out asap. This is very disappointing. The reason I stick with Apple is because everything "just works".

I can't delete any apps from my watch or phone, I can take them off the phone to the library, but the delete line doesn't show up. on the watch, they just shake. you can't slide the button off on the phone and nothing shows up on the watch in the storage. I've tried shutting down, erasing, and re-pairing with the phone, nothing works.

Same here! Mine used to last for 3-4 days on one charge. Not only is it dying quick it is also taking forever to charge. This morning after being on the charger all night for 8 hours it was only at 70%.. Today 5 hours later it is at 6%..

I went to the Genius Bar and they checked my watch and ended up sending in for repair. Just checked on the status and it states they couldn’t duplicate the issue and probably will be sending it back soon. Mine will not hold a charge longer than 6 hours and sometimes it get too hot charging and stops at about 79%.

I upgraded my Watch Series 6 to Watch OS 10.1. It also drops the battery charge extremely fast. Have had to put it back on the charger 3-4 times a day to keep it running through the day since updating.

Hope it is fixed soon as this is ridiculous.

Same issue, watch was working fine until the latest software update. Battery is draining quickly even on low battery mode which is insane. My watch use to last 2 days without a battery and now it last about 5 hours on low battery mode. I end my work day with about 4% battery and totally disappointed at the $800 watch which i was so happy about before.

oh i was on the phone with apple support. He literally asked me. How long do i expect my battery to last on my watch. I told him longer than 45 minutes. Of course he had snide remark but glad its out there now.

I have upgraded to the latest version of Watch OS (10.1.1) after this Watch battery fiasco with hopes that it would resolve the battery drain issue a lot of us have experienced. There is good news & bad news!

The good news is that it has helped somewhat lengthen the time between needing charging.

The bad news is that my charge still only lasts about 14 hrs. before having to recharge it. Not even a full day! Prior to the upgrade to 10.1 it would last close to a full day. So Apple has not really restored the battery to where it was before this problem began. I can only believe this problem that happened after the upgrade, caused the battery to be damaged.

This is not ok!😤

I have apple watch ultra 1 , used to get 48 hours of regular use from the battery ,and now after os update to os 10.1 and 10.2 battery dies after several hours, the watch was bought 10months ago ..

what can i do to go back to os before the last 2 updated, this is not what one expects from an Apple product
