iPhone 14 Pro slow after iOS 17.1 update

I have an 14 ProMax. Once I updated 17.1 I notice that editing pictures often didn’t work (got an error message). Also taking a picture then selecting it to send via iMessage would often not load.

pictures were slow to load in general.

Updating 17.1.2 increased the problems.

iPhone is getting worst day by day

I’m using iPhone 14 Pro Max since one year

First Green Screen issue happened when ios 16.6 installed

Now after 17.1.2. iPhone get automatically Black screen while using and get restart automatically and Even Browsing and App Experience is laggy soo much.

Having worst Experience from apple since 1 Year. I have used 6s, 11, 13 No issue was found on that time. This new devices and New IOS are worst. It’s very disappointing 💔

I generally don’t update my phone until the iOS starts causing issues. Some of the primary functions I use include Apple CarPlay and Bluetooth, and when my software is out of date, these are generally the first things impacted.

I completely agree though- it seems patches are far more frequent because they are putting out lower quality updates, and we’re ending up with stacks of issues.

iPhone 14 user; iPhone also lags bad after 17.1 update. Especially when using the multitask feature switching between apps. We need a bug fix update asap.

iPhone 14 Pro Max. After iOS 17.0 update, phone seem to become less responsive in correlations to the amount of time the phone is idle, also maybe have issues reading from hard drive. Restarting the phone starts another cycle.

Me too, my iphone 14 pro max has been significantly slower after downloading ios 17.1.

I'm also having these issues. I cleared all of my opened apps (which are only ever 3-5 apps max because I'm obsessive), I stopped all background apps from refreshing, and I've restarted my phone twice.

It's to the point where I can't open certain apps, and when my apps do work, they take a very long time to load.

Also, on FaceTime I am told that I am blurry from different people and on different days.

Wow! On a 15! Didn’t those just come out like a couple months ago?

I’m happy with my 14Pro on iOS16 so after this unless someone can state otherwise, I’ll be sticking to iOS16.

I used to work for apple for quite a while. It was a completely different company 10 years ago. The quality and service was still world class.

I have had so much trouble ever since I download the 17.1. My phone is so slow and I try to tap on my phone to open other apps and it’s stuck. I have to turn my phone off and turn it back on just to be able to use the phone.

I have same issues on iPhone 14Pro Max , after iOS 17.2.1 update my screen very offten doesn’t accept touches so i have to repeat , its very unpleasant .

Also apps are opening slower then before and switching true apps is slower .

scrolling /swiping on the internet etc .. is kind of glitchy and have no precision like before update. Those are serious things , feeling like cheap device, why Apple let this , if you want us to stay with you fix that .

After download of the iOS 17.1 my phone is ridiculously slow. There are glitches whenever I am on a the webpage or scrolling. whenever using the keypad, it is glitching out. I wish I would’ve never downloaded this 17.1 totally disappointed, and I hope Apple will come up with a solution to all these problems.

I havent updated for a while and decided to update it earlier. I wish I saw this post. I noticed the lagging right away in my iphone 14 pro after ios 17.3.1 update :( Compared to my company phone (iphone xs) that i havent updated yet, my iphone 14 pro is slowwwer. Hope this could be fixed asap.

I used to work for Apple and in the years after Steve died, progressively it became all about money where I feel Jobs also ensured the money got you quality lasting luxury products.

Frankly with few exceptions I would say the hardware has continued to be good (although has started becoming irrelevant much sooner than previous models. Lots of money to spend every four years for instance, when I used to be able to get 8 years out of a high end model).

But to the point: what I learned at apple and over years is that you should never update until a few months after release to find out about crap like this (sometimes I wonder who gets paid to codd this crappy software: spend more time fixing these issues than adding new unnecessary features).

Also I never update any device beyond one OS past what it came with. And in this case I will be leaving iOS 16 on my iPhone 14 Pro. It’s working just fine.

Mine has been lagging horribley. And freezing. Apps won't work, I miss calls and texts. The phone gets hot and I was told by apple support that I had a software issue. They made a appointment for me at the Apple store where I waited longer then they even looked at my phone. The rep then pulls out the new Samsung galaxy and told me that's what I should have gotten. He only uses his iPhone for work purposes. Even being on the phone for 5 minutes it gets hot. My keyboard freezes and the talk to text I don't even use anymore because it makes me look uneducated and can't spell. If I say the word "THE" it will correct it to"T3E" far from normal yet I'm told nothing is wrong with my phone!
