My Series 8 watch upgrade to WatchOS 10.1 this morning and now my watch battery drains in 2 hours or so. What is the fix for this?

If the battery drains too fast after an update, see all the replies to:
Battery Drain since watchos 7.4 - Apple Community
WatchOS 7.5 battery drain - Apple Community
FWIW, in some cases, unpairing the watch, completely erasing it, then pairing and restoring the backup will resolve the battery draining issue after an update. (Simply unpairing and pairing again may not work.)
Unpair and erase your Apple Watch - Apple Support
Also, some people have found that simply waiting a few days after an update resolves the battery draining problem.

For the people that this affected it killed the watch in 2 to 3 hours, made it overheat, etc. I uninstalled Moby Fox that I read about somewhere in the forums and it fixed my issue. I deleted it off the phone and the watch
***Update**** so i uninstalled the "Moby Face" app on my phone/watch and works perfectly fine now battery life on watch has been normal now. since charge to 100% on side here only at 55% after 36 hours of standy/low use
Also on wifes phone we updated the "Moby Face" app and couple of other minor apps and same result, all seems fine now charges ok and she had nearly 2 days now since charged to 100% so i dare say it will need a charge tonight when she gets home about 10.
Confirmed this was caused by the Moby watch face app. Deleted it and my watch is charging normally
I have unpaired, reset and reconfigured from scratch, but this time not installed the MobyFace app. Watch battery function seems to be restored to normal.

This happens when one of your apps isn't up to date for watchOS 10.1 The app is causing the battery drain. I was able to fix this problem by removing all of the apps that are not originally on the watch. Then you can add them one by one to find out which app is causing the battery drain.
It was happening to mine too and I know this doesn't address the root of the problem, but I turned my "Always on" display off and it stopped the draining. It's a. bandaid until Apple can address the actual problem
I turned my 'always on' off too along with turning off most of the background refreshing except for phone and messaging and it looks as if that took care of the problem until 10.2 comes out. So, I traded my series 4 watch for a series 7 just to use it as a series 4 watch.
Try rebooting your iPhone, but NOT your Apple Watch, and see if that helps. If you need to reboot both, reboot and unlock your Watch before rebooting your iPhone.
I’ve been reporting this issue consistently with system diagnostics since the 10.1 / 17.1 testing period, and throughout 10.2/17.2 testing as well; I can tell you it still isn’t fixed in the latest versions. The insidious part is that everything may appear normal for several hours or even several days, then out of the blue my battery drops from 80% to 20% in a matter of hours (on an Ultra 2). This has happened even while in Sleep Mode (iPhone nearby, no Always-On Display).
So far, rebooting my iPhone after my Apple Watch has seemed to keep the crazy battery drain at bay.
In addition to posting here, anyone experiencing this issue needs to provide feedback either at apple.com/feedback, or using the Feedback Utility; otherwise it will keep getting ignored.
I changed the watch face, I was using the pennut watch face I tried another and boom fixed
watchOS 10.1.1 available now which Apple says fixes the “battery drain bug”. Your mileage may vary. Good luck.
10.1.1 is out to address battery drain issues!
Apple has addressed the problem in watchOS 10.1.1 released a few days ago.
Unpair your Watch, disconnect all the apps and then add the apps one by one, that have solved my problem.
I uninstalled mobyfox as others stated and fixed the issue of battery drain back to normal didn’t reinstall yet though to test if issue will return upon reinstall
