iOS 17.1 Battery drain

same noticed with iPhone 11. I’m charging my phone thrice a day. It’s very bad experience with this update. I was already facing issues when I updated to 17 now 17.1 is much worse.

Did ios 17.1.1 fixed this issue?

Yes, no matter what Apple’s position is on this one, IOS 17.1 has dramatically affected battery life. I just received an upgrade notice for 17.2. I hope it addresses the problem.

It’s too early to say anything yet, I will try to do the same things with my 15 Pro and see what happens. Normally was not warm but hot after 10 minutes of watching YouTube picture in picture with the screen off!

My iPhone 15 Pro Max does NOT display a notification on the lock screen telling me when my phone will be fully charged. I have optimized Battery Charging on. Today, it gain has only charged to 85% after more than 8 hrs. charging. I would like to tell it to "Charge Now"

I’ve upgraded to 17.1.1 too and I see no difference in battery life. Still very poor, iPhone and iPad will not last the working day without charging.

Is it me or is Apple now releasing more and more rubbish software? I don’t use beta stuff where I would expect bugs but these should have all been ironed out!

I’m experiencing this now with iOS 17.1.1, but not on my iPhone…it’s impacting my iPad Pro (12.9-inch, 2nd generation). I used to be able to use my iPad for 2 days on one charge. Since updating to iOS 17.1.1, it drains my battery completely in <6 hours while using it exactly the same. All apps are updated, location services are disabled (minus Find My), Background App Refresh is disabled, brightness is low…the **** is going on with these updates and patches?

This is exactly what I am experiencing! The fact that Apple cannot solve this issue even after a couple of updates is disappointing and very unlike Apple. What is going on here??? We overpay these products because they are functioning great. But, I am getting quite annoyed and get fed up with not getting any news about any solution or the message that they are working on it.

Just wanted to post an update. Today I’ve been using my phone heavily since 8:30am and the battery is holding up really well. It’s now 6pm and it’s at 54%. It’s setup to go into low power mode at 60% via shortcuts, but these new settings have helped immensely.

i am a new iOS user using 14+ which is supposed to give exceptional battery performance but within a month the battery’s health is down by 1% with an average of 4-5 hrs of screen time.

is this normal?

My IPhone 13 Pro Max battery has been thee best EVER! Currently at 19 and last charged to 96 7:00 this morning. I would’ve had to charge twice by now. Overall capacity is at 84%. This battery sucked before iOS 17.1.1. I will definitely wait for 16 now.

Even after doing all the recommended things to help with both battery life and battery health I’ve had significant drain on top of the battery health dropping like a rock, significant updates shouldn’t kill out phones like this. I’d understand a small drop considering everything that has to take place in the background after an update but this is ridiculous.

With time I started seeing some improvement at least on some days. It seems at least as if the battery drain situation is more under control on days of low usage. Not back to previous levels, but at least improved. There are still times though when the battery will just start draining like crazy and often the heat will also start running away. I have just not yet noticed any particular caude or trigger.

Exactly the same with me. The only difference is my iPad is 3rd generation. With my iPad at 100% in the morning, it is at 41% after two 1/2 hours of news and email. Come on Apple, fix this. My iPad is no longer the best thing in the world.
