'Other Devices' using data even when Personal Hotspot is switched off

Updating software to iOS 17.4.1 didn’t work. Neither resetting Network Settings, nor turning off hotspot and cnanging password. The other devices are currently pulling data again. Tech support not helping at all. It’s been almost 5 months of Wasting time and energies even haiving iPhone 15 Pro.

My hotspot drains my entire data when i connect it to my mac even though the mac isnt using any data at all.

please resolve this issue quickly or kindly provide me with a new phone.

I´ve been strugling with this bug for many months now, first time back in december, that time it did cost me a lot of money the extra Data. In January I upgraded my data plan for unlimited data at night, from 10 pm to 7 am, and it helped not to have extra charges on my bill. But each month I use arroung 200GB of "other devices" fortunately I dont have to pay extra. Still very anoying bug, Im surprised no one came with a solution already.

!!!!! UPDATE !!!!!

I'm experiencing the same behaviour and I wasnt happy with "call your courier" solution. So I called again and insisted on a solution. Steps

• Renamed my Phone
• Deleted all VPN on the phone and disabled in settings
• Updating my phone
• Contacting the courier to stop for a while the Hotspot data in my Roaming
• Observing whether data still flows.
• Contact Apple support with the case number - if no data flows I need to check with provider. If data still flows it will be directly send to the developer to deliver a quick fix.

So I will keep you updated tomorrow after the whole procedure *head :(*

never seen this happen 1/4 of a tb is unreal amounts of data used in hotspot. Also when on sos with hotspot off I watched it gain 2gb in one minute

I have the same issue, too. It used up my whole data on holidays….75 GB. This is unacceptable. Hoping for a reply from Apple.

It did not fix it for me.

I’ve tried this and it still keeps using it. Everything is connected via WiFi or my cell data. In my plan, I only have 5gb of high speed personal hotspot.

once again this month 146gb of data used on ‘Other Devices’. In fact none of devices are named apart from one (my wife’s Mac).

The main user of my hotspot is my son who has an iPhone with no SIM card yet its name is not show.

No idea what the other 3 devices are.

I only have 20gb data allowance so I know it’s not actually using 143gb

I think the solution worked. My provider could do nothing as I was pretty sure that this is b*** , but after I have updated to 17.4.1 I see no increase in the Hotspot data ( within 4 days it was 3.41GB ) and since one and a half day no change in the data. ( I also changed the Hotspot Pwd just for extra "security"). I think they might have found the issue but didn't want to communicate this lack officially and just slipped in the fix in 17.4.1.

Let me know whether someone is on 17.4.1 and still experiencing this issue? For me since 1,5 days has stopped but I will keep observing it.
