iOS 17.1.1 - Issues with iPhone touch screen

This morning I updated my iPhone 15 pro (3 week old phone) to iOS 17.1.1. Prior to the update everything worked fine. After the update the touch screen does not respond. The screen works and the buttons work, but the touch feature is completely unresponsive. I have restarted the phone using the up vol, down vol and hold the power button several times with no success on restoring touch.

I can still wirelessly charge my phone, but wired charging does not work either. (this is also a new issue post 17.1.1 update)

Anyone else seeing these issues? Any suggestions before I go back to ATT?

IF this happens, DON'T go to the Apple Store. All you have to do is this:

  1. tap the volume up once
  2. tap the volume down once
  3. hold the power button until you see the apple logo (it will take about 40 seconds so be patient)

Then, VOILA! Restored!

I updated my iPhone 15 Pro to iOS 17.4 last night. It installed fine (took forever) but after that the screen was frozen. I rebooted it a bunch of times with the side buttons (up-down-right) but still the screen did not recognize touch (mine or anyone else's). I updated my iTunes (I'm using Windows 11) to the most recent version, then plugged in the phone. It said it was in DFU mode and I needed to restore it, but when I clicked restore it said that I needed the most current version of iTunes. I tried reinstalling iTunes but it says I have the most current version. I read all this stuff on the net about this problem, nothing worked. I took it to the Apple Store, they hooked it up to their laptop and it restored my OS and even my photos, files, music and books that were not bought through Apple. Works fine now. Luckily the iPhone had backed itself up to the cloud before updating the OS last night. This was a big PITA but at least it worked. Too bad they don't have an Apple Configurator for Windows.

I think that DFU mode stands for Definitely F**ked Up.
