Let's go through some steps to troubleshoot this issue on your iPhone 15 Pro Max running iOS 17.0.03.

  1. Check Notification Settings for Outlook:
    • Go to the Settings app on your iPhone.
    • Scroll down and select "Notifications."
    • Find and select Outlook from the list of apps.
    • Ensure that "Allow Notifications" is turned on, and particularly check the settings under "Badges." The badge option should be enabled.
  1. Update the Outlook App:
    • Sometimes, issues like this are resolved in app updates.
    • Open the App Store, then go to your profile and check for updates.
    • If there’s an update available for Outlook, install it.
  1. Restart Your iPhone:
    • Sometimes, simply restarting your device can resolve minor software glitches.
    • Press and hold the side button and either volume button until two sliding buttons appear.
    • Drag the slider to turn your device completely off.
    • After the device turns off, press and hold the side button again until you see the Apple logo.
  1. Check Outlook's Internal Settings:
    • Sometimes, the app’s internal settings can override the general settings.
    • Open Outlook and go to its settings.
    • Look for any settings related to notifications or badges and ensure they are configured correctly.
  1. Reinstall the Outlook App:
    • If none of the above works, try uninstalling and then reinstalling the Outlook app.
    • To uninstall, lightly press and hold the app icon until it jiggles and then tap the "X" to delete.
    • Reinstall it from the App Store.
  1. iOS Software Update:
    • Although you're on a relatively recent version of iOS, it's always good to check if there are any new updates which might fix this bug.
    • Go to Settings > General > Software Update.
  1. Check for any Known Issues:
    • Sometimes, these issues can be widespread and due to a bug in the app or iOS.
    • You can look for any known issues by visiting the Outlook support website or forums and checking if others are experiencing similar problems.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, there might be a more specific problem with your device or the app. In this case, contacting Apple Support or Microsoft Outlook Support for further assistance would be the best course of action. They might offer device-specific or account-specific solutions.
