Removing root certificates
I have a hidden profile on my iPhone “enforced by the profile ‘Spectrum WiFi’” but I haven’t installed anything and it didn’t come with the phone. Nobody else on our service has this “profile” and root trust certificate installed, I’ve checked all my families phones. The only way we’ve been able to remove it, when I visit Apple, is by reinstalling the software and this does work! BUT only for no longer than say 18 hrs give or take. Last time it came back before I got to my car on my way home! I hadn’t downloaded anything, called anyone, received any messages, I hadn’t used my phone at all and it was back on there. My settings change and I have certain restrictions on my account or device preventing me from signing out of devices on my iCloud account, removing devices or sometimes even preventing me from accessing my WiFi because it keeps me locked in a public WiFi that is preconfigured differently from the other Spectrum hotspots by different but similar names. I saw that the other day my eSIM had changed. The ICCID was different and instead of my carrier saying”Spectrum” like normal it read “Spectrum WiFi”. After a few hours it changed back to normal. Spectrum denies making any changes and informs me that it shouldn’t ever read Spectrum WiFi, it should register as “Spectrum” only. I also have developer tools in effect on my device and I purposely haven’t enrolled in the developer program for security reasons. If any one can shed any light on this situation, I’d be so appreciative! My husband passed away on Valentine’s Day and I’m afraid of losing all our pictures and messages if I have to give up on this account. I’ve tried changing everything, all my contact info, I’ve moved, changed devices and this certificate continues to reappear. Any suggestions will help. On, I should say that the root certificate is grayed out. I can’t click on it or turn off trust, and there are no profiles installed under VPN and device management. It states above the certificate that the trust certificate “is enforced by the profile Spectrum WiFi” neither Apple nor Spectrum have come up with an answer. Were all still trying but they have had me report it to the authorities because of a lot of other things that have gone on seemingly because of a security breach. Sorry so long. Pls! Any suggestions?
