Can't text Android phones after iOS 17.1.1 Update

Provisioning a phone refers to the process of setting up and configuring a phone to work on a specific network. This includes activating the phone with the network provider, configuring the phone's settings and preferences, and installing any necessary software or updates.

how does this help? the basic features of a phone are to make and receive calls and text. it is totally unacceptable in 2024 to not be able to communicate with any phone. this most certainly didn't enhance user experience and actually Caused major disruption in core feature. is apple working on it?? I still cannot determine whether it is an apple Or verizon only issue. but both companies are aware so a solution should be made available to users.

I'm tired of being the Beta tester. don't release updates unless they are ready! also if it is a known bug fix it! I'm spending hours with Verizon and I don't know who is responsible. Apple could at LEAST post an alert saying they are aware of this issue and working on it. we are always in the dark, shunting between vendors.

I have been having issues texting Android users using my iPhone. I went to the Verizon store and also called Apple. They said it was an Android problem. This has been going on for over a month. This seemed to happen after an Apple update. Is there a way to get rid of an Apple update?

Apple doesn't want to fix this. It's happened for years and years - almost always because of an iOS update but it also affects my texting from my MacBook too. If Apple really cared about its customers it would have been fixed long ago. But since there is a platform rivalry with Android, they would rather make us miserable. Why?? It only makes Apple customers miserable when they ought to be driving Android customers to give up their phones and buy an Apple product. I used to have respect for Apple.

I have this same problem and have tried all suggested solutions except factory resetting my phone. I should not have to do that for a problem with ***1 contact that does not receive my text messages*** from my iPhone to an Android phone. I receive text messages from the contact. Wondering if the issue has to do with contact previously having iPhone, now has android phone, but still uses Apple IPAD and MAC computer. I am not blocked on this contacts phone nor have I blocked the contact. I don’t have issues messaging any other android user. My messages are not going through on the MAC/IPAD either to the contact I am having problems with.

I was having the same problem and "fixed" it sort of - while back - and I say sort of because I can now send to Androids, most of the time, from my phone but not my iMac. This may possibly be because my iMac is now 7 years old and no longer supported. How convenient! But not for me!

So I have an Apple Watch and I have been texting someone with an android with it and I got the update and now I would let me text the person on my iPad and after a day I would send messages and the would not go through it just said message not delivered and I have turned of my WiFi and on and I have turned of both my devices and back on and it’s not working and I need to solve issues with this person but I can’t text them cause this person has an android and I don’t know what to do so I need help

Hi have have an apple iPhone 11 that is on iOS update 17.5.1. I can not message my android user friend but I could yesterday I have look at all the comments and websites non of them helped. Apple can u please provide and answer for me to fix their problem cause I have family members that I have to contact on a daily basis but now cant can you please help

I backed up the phone and did a full factory reset. Same issue. My phone is broken and I’m out of business with half the people in the country.

Does a Reset restore all settings to default to where I'll have to reset a bunch of stuff?

Remember when the text message limit was 120 characters? I can get short texts to work just fine. Perhaps there’s still a limit before translation gets garbled?…

Someone should check process…..
