Same issue with iPhone 15 Pro and iOS 17.2.1
Many hard reboots, but no touch input at all. Also the iPhone doesn't charge using USB-C anymore (0,3 Watt). This cable worked for months and is still working for my iPad.
By using a MagCharger the iPhone is charging.
I ended up taking my locked phone to an authorized Apple store here in Burbank and they reset it, which is no biggie if you're backed up. Entire process took maybe 30 minutes and I was up & running. No charge, which is lucky for Apple. :-)
sama problem here on a 15 Pro Max
A full restore will do the trick
All the hard reboots in the word didn’t work but I took mine to apple today and after a full restore, both the touch screen issue and charge from usbc was fixed!
For the people that took their iPhone to the Apple store I’m wondering how much they had to pay if they didn’t have a guarantee or extender guarantee that apple always tries to sell.

Same issue here. iPhone 15 Pro Max and following 17.2.1 update this morning my touchscreen is dead, despite multiple restarts. Unbelievably frustrating.
This happened to me today when updating my 15 Pro Max to 17.3. Factory restore using iTunes on PC failed. Based on this thread, looks like I’ll be driving to the Apple Store to get this resolved.
I have tha iPhone XS and had no issues in the last 3 years. Now with the 17.2.1 update it seems like the screens touch response takes ages and even gets stuck for very long.
I have the same issue! with 17.4 update
