billing problem email

I had the same issue. I was told the issue was with ApplePay in iTunes/Media and Purchases thinking the card expired this month. Representative had me remove ApplePay copy of card and add it back in without linking to ApplePay.

I have payment problem - Apple charged me with amount that is not tipical and I cannot find the way to stop the payment... my subscription per month is 20.99 BGN and now my card is charged with 42.99. Could you please help me giving me email address to send screenshot with this and to know what to do... Thanks

My payment method is good to go, i guess i will wait to see if my subscriptions renew or not. I tried to re-enter my card but I wasn’t able to delete then re-enter. Have to have one method on file. Tried to add payment method but it says it already exists. Idk.

Maybe for you it is but there is something going on with the Apple Pay system. I’m not able to buy anything with Apple Pay and I’m not able to update my card because it still thinks my card is expired or about to expire?

Received the same email. Per Apple Support, it is indeed from Apple as some others have noted. Problem on their end with incorrect card expiry date on record. Removing and re-adding card in Apple Pay resolved it.

For what it’s worth, the support tech totally agreed that the email looks like phishing and said they would pass the feedback up the chain.

I’m just glad it wasn’t phishing as the idea that scammers knew what subscriptions I had as well as the last 4 digits of my credit card would have been quite alarming.

Happy New Year - After scouring a number of discussions on this topic, I decided to try the following - I added another card, deleted the existing card and then re-added it. Then I deleted the new card I had added. Then I linked the old card (the one that I deleted and re-added) to Apple Pay. Apple immediately charged the newly re-added card for the subscription that was due on 12/30. Success!

OK so if you run into this problem and the only thing on your Apple Pay is your credit card and you do not have Apple Cash you need to add Apple Cash to your wallet to be able to remove your old card. And if your original card was not expired you then put in your old card information and this should fix your problem.

I did exactly the same, removed then reloaded my card, still getting the emails and my exp date is in years to come! So 100% has not expired or even close to expiry. Heaps of money in my card, all details are correct. Apple have been happily taking money from it all month for various subscriptions. So this has to be an apple bug.

Ive realised it was in fact my error. I was notified a month ago of a possible problem with my card for a specific subscription. so I updated my card, ie removed the old expired one and updated the erroring subscription with my new card. Then a few weeks later I received further notifications about my subscriptions at risk due to a fault with my card and thought thats weird because Ive already fixed it. Now I realise you need to update every single subscription individually with new card details. I forgot that you can potentially use various cards to make subscription payments.

Even if it is from Apple, it has too many phishing markers. I will not click a dodgy link in an email. Apple knows better! If I lose continuity with my subscription, it is on Apple that this occurs. It is Apple‘s fault, and I will not take any blame. I will simply allow whatever Apocalypse tragedy they are warning against, to happen. On them.

I have gotten 3 emails the same as this today. 2nd April, 2024.

How come it is still happening ?

I can’t see a response from Apple about this.

I will ignore the email and check the details for myself.

Any other ideas?

They are from scammers. This is how accounts become compromised. I get emails similar to what you received almost every day. They are all fake. Not meaning to sound flippant, but welcome to the 21st century. This is one means by which people are tricked into sharing/revealing personal and financial information. It’s called social engineering.

Phishing. I updated the billing information (just expiry date and 3 digits) on my side. Not through the button.

I got a mail from Apple about that. The mail said “Dear first_name last_name”. In the billing letter only my first name appeared. Not sure how they cloak the Apple email to that degree of sophistication but in my opinion this is a very clever phishing scam.

DO NOT press the button to the link and do anything there. If you want to update your payment info go into your Apple ID in the phone or computer and update it there.
