Solved my problem after 8 hours of troubleshooting! After the 17.2.1 update, my iPhone 14 Pro Max would not send or receive calls and got hot from accelerated battery drain. First AppleCare walked me through hardware diagnostics, network resets, backups and restores but the problem persisted. Next, Verizon helped me with a new eSIM, but the problem continued. Next, I focused on my company's corporate software, because I was intrigued by the VPN discussion in this forum. While I don't use a VPN, my iPhone is managed by my company's installation of Microsoft InTune, which I noticed (Settings:General:VPN & Device Mgmt) had a signing certificate (IOSProfileSigning.manage.microsoft.us) that had expired December 12, 2023. To test this theory, I removed this Management software and my phone's cellular calls worked perfectly again! So for the final steps, I worked with my company's IT department to reinstall the Management software, which has an updated IOS signing certificate, and the phone is now back to normal. Sharing in case others find my painful tech journey useful.
my phone force updated to IOS 17.2.1 overnight. I woke up to the black screen of death. Phone on and making sounds with a black screen. After trying force a restart on the phone about 8 times, it finally came on. Very frustrating. It also put extra useless apps on my phone. If I needed a journal app, I would have downloaded one myself. I can’t stand when they add apps on my device with the updates. Always messing stuff up.
auto Update last night to 17.2.1.
can’t use data from my provider. I can still call out but unless I’m connected to a wifi server can’t get online. What is going on with you Apple? 17.1 update has been a mess since you released it. So many glitches it’s like a bed bug infestation. Instead of new updates fixing things its making things worse with each new version. Get your act together before releasing these bug infested updates.
B@ta 17.3 and full version 17.3 have made no difference to my malfunctioning iPhone 15, still no working hotspot, and constant time outs... taking it to an Apple store on the weekend as a last attempt to get it working correctly.
Apple are ***** !!!
Did your IT department inform you of the issue with Intune or how it was fixed after the reinstall? Was it an issue with how the phone connects the Intune cloud then somehow blocks the cellular service. Did they update or change your profile. I have also tried the uninstall reinstall step but the issue will start again after a few hours. Thanks.
After I updated to iOS 17 my phone is TERRIBLE!!! I can’t search anything. I can’t search my files, I can’t search for specific apps. I have to scroll through it all. And now when I take screenshots while I’m on a call it captures my FaceTime, I loved how it didn’t before, My phone glitches a lot now. I told my family DO NOT update.
Pls did you get a fix recently updated to iOS 17.3 hoping for a fix but nothing same issue with my mom's 12 pro max. It is frustrating as my 11 overheats when not doing any demanding task and goes off by itself
Hi Steff, with great respect, I'm glad your problem was solved. But it could be helpful to the rest of us if we knew what advice you got from 1970_73. We can see who you replied to, but the problem is, there are (at this moment) 22 pages of posts and comments in this thread. I've looked back 3 or 4 pages from here and can't find the comment you're referring to. So could you please post the advice you got? Thanks!

Thanks so much, now I know!
And now I see how to quote, which makes it even clearer.
My phone is having all sorts of problems with this new update glitches not loading cant find my network, my network is up to date and its really frustrating. Say I need WPA3 and I dont believe any network I connect with runs that!!
It only worked temporarily. Now I’m back to no WiFi no Bluetooth, phone reboots by itself all the time. So thanks Apple for this really really bad update! They are aware of the problem and blame it on the the owner of the phone and try to force you to pay over $800 to fix the defective chip inside the phone. No thanks
Since I updated my phone, all phone calls are being sent to voicemail immediately. The phone will light up like a call is coming in and hang up. This has happened to every call that I have received since the update. I have done a hard reset around 10 times trying to get the phone to start working. I’ve also reset the network connection several times. Is there something I can do?
Did you ever get this resolved without paying the 400? Not the same issue but apple wants 699 and loss of phone for 9 days to repair a phone just over 1 year old that was, like yours working just fine until update. I can’t even see screen to revert back to previous version.
Me too and you’d think they’d be more cautious since they’ve already been sued for forced obsolescence through updates already. They aren’t new to this they know how to make a clean update… it’s Apple…
After updating my iPhone to the 17.2.1, I’ve had endless problems. Went to Apple, they found no problem. They wanted to reset my phone. Then, they sent us to Verizon. They switched out my SIM for an eSIM. Still having problem. Called Verizon customer service. They sent me a new phone. Updated automatically. Same problem. No one can hear me. I may as well not have a phone. When is the fix coming? I can’t stand this!?!
