connecting 2010 27 inch LED Cinema display to mac studio

Cinema Display works fine when attached to older Mac Pro. Now connected as extended display (second screen) to new Mac Studio via mini display port to hdmi adapter. everything works, but the color is way off and screen is slightly dimmed

you are unlikely to be able to convert the Mac's HDMI output to any other display protocol except single-Link DVI.


Use a USB-C [computer-end] to Mini DisplayPort [display-end] for better results.


The front ports on the Mac Studio MAX are limited to 10 G bit/sec, but the bandwidth required should just fit for 2560 by 1440 at 60 Hz. The specs do not make clear whether the front ports are Wired for display support. So try a rear ThunderBolt port first, and once you know all else is working, you can try a front port if you prefer.
