XQD card reader doesn't show up in Finder

My Sony XQD Card Reader won't show up in Finder on any of my Macs with Apple Silicon. It worked fine on my Intel iMac. All options in Finder are enabled.

Is there ANY XQD card reader that is known to work on Apple Macs (with Apple silicon)?

My photography work has ground to a halt and this is pretty serious. Sony does not have any firmware updates for this card reader.

Please help.

Sounds weird. Try the usual troubleshooting voodoo:

Remove all 3rd party virus apps (Avast, AVG, Bitdefender, Intego, MacAfee, Norton, ESET NOD32, Trusteer etc) and 3rd party "cleaning", "optimizing", "speed-up" apps (CleanMyMac, MacKeeper etc). They produce only obscure errors and money loss.

Don't use VPN services. Unless you're using it to tunnel into a secure private network such as your employer or school, it's doing absolutely nothing to protect your privacy or secure your data traffic. Exactly the opposite, in fact.

Reset SMC & PRAM (if possible on silicon Macs)

Safe boot

Disk First Aid in Recovery mode

Does it work in a new dummy user account?

Does it work in a new clean install on an external disk?

An EtreCheck report would eliminate much guesswork:

If the above does not help, I'd go to some respectful photo oriented brick and mortar store with the Mac and ask them to sell one that works.
