My Messenger app keeps crashing on my desktop

For the past year and a half for more, my Messenger app on my iMac keeps crashing. It will be working fine, then all of a sudden it will close itself, and when I try to reopen it, it asks for my Username and Password but it NEVER works after that. I have to completely reboot my entire computer in order to get it to work again. Does anyone know if they're working on this or is it just something I'll have to deal with ?

Exactly what third party:


  • Antivirus Apps
  • Cleaning Apps
  • Security Apps
  • VPN Apps
  • Maintenance Apps


are installed?


Mac OS does not require nor does it benefit in ANY way by adding these types of apps. They have a long history of making Mac OS slow, unstable, appear buggy (much like you are describing) and offer exactly NOTHING in return that Mac OS cannot already do. All Mac OS needs is to be kept up-to-date and to restart your Mac about 1x per week, other than that please leave it alone.


Whatever app(s) you have installed please locate the developers uninstall instructions and follow to the letter. Then restart the computer in Safe Mode and then restart normally and finally test. If the problem is still there then we will request for you to provide an EtreCheck report of what has been installed and we can offer further instructions.
