How can I turn off Stolen Device Protection if Face ID is not working?

Hi GM, since 2 or 3 days my FACE ID suddenly stopped working, i feel since i activated Stolen Device Protection my face id isn't working.

I am unable to even Reset Face ID since it is not recognizing my face ID.

Due to this i am facing lot of difficulties to access my banking applications.

I’ve updated software, backed everything up, there is nothing covering the camera and I did a few hard resets with no luck. This seems to have occurred after the recent software update.

I cant access any of my password settings or reset face ID since it requires face ID and face ID only to make changes. How does that even make sense? If you need to reset face ID or setup alternative face ID why would you make face ID to do so a requirement?

Yes, even I am facing the same issue since last 1 month. FaceID is not working and shows a service message. But I have observed this issue when I turned on the Stolen Device Protection. And since then the Face ID is not working, and it is also not allowing me to disable or reset the face id.

Has anybody found the solution to this problem?

Stop posting these useless solutions to this problem. It's obvious to everyone (except you, apparently) that the problem is caused by Apple engineers not thinking this through when they added this new feature. The solutions you're suggesting don't work, they've been tried already, and they're so basic that any user would have tried them already.

I Activated Stoplen Device Protection on my phone and Suddenly the Screen Broke, So After changing it, I can’t Use my Face ID, i can Even Rest the Face ID and I can’t even logout my iCloud to restart my phone, please what should I do, it’s 3 days Already.

First of all, wipe the glass in front of the camera and see if it works! If it doesn't proceed to the below section


  1. Go to Settings > Face ID & Passcode
  2. Enable Face ID with a Mask
  3. Click on Add glasses.
  4. When you try to add glasses a couple of times, it will initiate a 'Security delay' option
  5. Go ahead and click OK, and a 1-hour security delay will start.
  6. After the security delay, you will get a notification to enroll an alternate appearance (Face ID)
