Issues connecting to cellular data on iPhone After Update

Today I updated my iPhone form iOS 16.0 to 17.4. When I opened my phone I found that I was no longer connected to my cellular data. When my wifi is off and my cellular is on, I get popups saying “Cellular Data is Turned Off.” I also keep getting popups to update my carrier settings but when I click update it shows me the popup a second time. Then, it appears again a few minutes later. Something to note is that I am currently on roaming since I am out of my home country.

So far I’ve tried:

  1. restarting my phone
  2. resetting network settings
  3. deleting any vpns in settings
  4. updating my carrier in settings (this did not appear)
  5. manually setting my provider since i’m on roaming
  6. contacting tmobile support (they said ask apple)

Any idea what I could do to fix this issue? Haven’t found anyone on here with the same problem.

Today I found my network just stopped working. No message, no warning - just no cellular network. Come on Apple - how can an IOS update lose focus of the very basic needs of a mobile phone…. No excuse. Please sort this out asap. It had a massive impact on my work day! 🤯

I have had the same problem (iPhone 14 pro), after the last update. Hard/soft resets make no difference. I thought it might be related to WiFi locking out the mobile data signal even though 4g/5g signal was always showing. Swiping down to turn off the WiFi made no difference to the mobile service, it still didn’t work. However, GOING TO SETTINGS AND DESELECTING WiFi did. This might be the answer until Apple release a fix - hopefully shortly.

I have the exact same issue. Also iPhone 11. I have tried everything: restarting my phone, resetting network settings, software updates, even restore my phone. I even went past a repair shop, and they checked my device antenna, which was working perfectly.

And it is not just me. Two friends, also with an iPhone 11, have the same issues now as well. Like said before, how is it that Apple cannot even make sure the basic function of a phone is working fine in a software update...

Same issue. Update sent my phone into cellular issue detected mode. Called apple and they act like they never heard of this issue. I told them I can go online and find thousands of posts from people having the same issue. The man told me, “don’t believe everything you read”. I didn’t even have a response.

I've just encountered the same problem with iOS 17.6.1 on an iPhone SE (2gen), Telstra SIM. Does anyone know how to fix this, hopefully without wiping the phone and starting again?

I hit the same problem a few months ago after buying a data pack for my British SIM from Three; several Three stores and their Tech department (escalated to the top) didn't manage to get it to work, so they gave me my £10 back. NOT GOOD ENOUGH, APPLE.
