Additional 17.4 and 17.4.1 problems

Hello, I’m having issues ever since I started downloading 17.4 and 17.4.1 iOS updates for the iPhone 13 mini I have experience nothing but a long list of problems that make my phone unusable like crashing overheating battery drain even if I turn off all the settings, even if I put on airplane mode Compatibility with other devices Wi-Fi messing up Bluetooth messing up not detecting a Sim card or an eSIM card or even my back up Sim card everything is updated on the phone, but it has nothing but problems ever since the day of the 14.1 update which I did about a week ago And to me, it seems very strange that they would prompt me to download this update called a critical update for security but now my phone is least secure. It’s not working at all and still obviously having tons of issues. Cannot stay connected to anything from the update and 17.4.1 was supposed to fix this, but has been effective for my phone. It doesn’t seem like there’s really anyone to talk to you. I’ve I’ve done basically everything you possibly can to try to get it to work on the phone , it’s not doing it. The only other option is to revert back to a different iOS update like iOS 17.3 or something before this I believe I would have to have a computer to do that which I don’t have. Does anyone have any recommendations? does anyone else think that this might Cause permanent damage to the phone does anyone else consider that it would seem hard to release this type of update that could be so severe and tell everyone is so critical to download without intention phones could be tested and labeled that critical just cause all these issues seems very strange it’s happening to way too many people to coincidence my typing doesn’t have any punctuation because I cannot actually use the keyboard on my phone because I’m having keyboard issues as well if I try to either switch keyboards or use the number button or the tab button on the phone it will cause it to delete what I’m typing or choose to randomly put dashes or just switch keyboards even when I’m not trying to, so I have to use the speech to text option. Has iPhone announced any compensation for downtime and for the problems or permanent damage may cause to the devices?

After upgrading to 17.4.1 my 13 pro max behaving weird , sometime touch screen not working properly and there is lag when switching screen, Battery heating issue. And sometimes unable type in text messaging aps inclusing whatsapp, insta, x, typing typing inbox getting disabled or tottaly disappear . This is the worst update received from apple.

Thank you for the advice but this actually caused the most problems. Now I have to spend weeks getting into my accounts and trying to get them authenticated with phone numbers I no longer have or they use authenticator apps like Microsoft authenticator app or duo mobile, but these are no longer set up on my device. Also, reseting the phone didn’t fix any problem just caused them.

Hello. Iphone13miniuser. I have also heard of this. I can almost guarantee that this won’t cause permanent damage to your phone. If anything you might need to get a new SIM card. If for some reason you do need a new sim card then I would think this would be funded by Apple due to their update causing this. Unfortunately from what I see there is no real fix besides trying to clean the SIM card with a couple drops of alcohol. If that doesn’t work then I would recommend first reaching out to your cellular carrier. As an experiment if you know someone who doesn’t use your carrier then you can try to switch SIM cards with them. If none of those work then I would reach out to Apple. They’re very good with all that stuff and making sure you are satisfied.

Hope this all helps.

Sorry I was unable to read your issue, that was on long paragraph with no breaks.

So I give you this basic troubleshooting tips:

Restart, Reset, Restore from backup and Restore as NEW.

Simply put without an extensive list of problems stated here en masse, I have the same issues with my 14 Pro Max less than one year old. I am now using a 7+ and using the 14 Pro Max as a paperweight until Apple resolves the issue with 4 more updates. Very, very disappointing. I have also noticed a significant change in the knowledge and attitude of the representatives that have always been excellent. Sad

I had issues with others calling me via FaceTime and had to reload it.

After I shut my phone down overnight my VCA texts stopped coming in. I noticed the Airplane mode was turned on (I hadn’t touched it) Once I turned it back off everything came in.

I’m not sure if there will be other issues but it does seem like there were unintentional settings enabled/disabled. Check your phone thoroughly before you do a reset.

Help!! After the update I cannot access my photos from social media. I work in marketing, so this is essential.

There is no longer the option to give permissions to access my photos from apps like meta, facebook, or instagram. Also, every time I open these apps, there is a pop up to accept terms with the new update and I have done it several times.

Same. iPhone Xs. I assume this is iPhone’s way of forcing us to buy a new phone, I wish I never installed this update and from my research there is no way to go back after installing.

my apps crash, my phone freezes, it overheats randomly, my battery lasts 1/2 as long, and everything reacts very slowly. When I press the buttons to restart my phone or turn up the volume it doesn’t happen for 1-5 minutes. I’ve gotten lost because my gps apps keep crashing during Navigation.

Someone on another thread suggested resetting the phone so I will try that tomorrow and update you if possible.
