Issues after updating to iOS 17.4.1

After updating to the latest iOS version, I've noticed that my iPhone is heating up more than usual, which seems to be a common issue with iPhone 15 since it launched. Additionally, my battery is draining much faster than before, and the performance seems to be deteriorating rapidly. The battery health, which was at 100%, has now dropped to 92%, and I'm concerned that it will continue to decrease quickly.

When I contacted Apple support, they mentioned that if the battery health drops to 80% or below, I may need to service the battery. This is concerning for me, as my phone is relatively new, and I've paid a significant amount for it. I've been an iPhone user since the iPhone 4s and have always recommended it to friends and colleagues. However, if these issues persist, I may have to reconsider and switch to another brand.

I believe Apple should address these issues promptly, as there are many users facing similar problems. I hope someone from Apple can respond and provide a solution. It's important for Apple to maintain its reputation for quality and customer satisfaction.

I have been having nightmares since the ios 17.4.1 update. The 17.5.1 patch did nothing to help. Among other problems, the sound stopped working. Calls went directly to voicemail and callers heard absurd messages, despite my mailbox being empty. My contacts are rife with issues, but seemingly randomly. Some lost photos, others all data, some lost ring tones, others text tones. Some contacts were left in tact. My own disappeared completely.

After 4 long calls to Apple Support plus two hours at the Genius Bar, nothing has changed. The most recent call to a Tech Supervisor suggested - wait for it - that it was a radiation glitch in my phone. The only thing this Tech Supervisor would do is give me a postal address to write to Apple.

I have already written on apple.com/feedback, to no avail. Now I will write a letter to Apple Inc, ATTN: Customer Care, One Apple Parkway, Cupertino, CA 95014. I urge everyone to also complain via these options. Finally, I am prepared to go to social media and traditional media to get Apple to take responsibility for the problems it has caused. If enough of us complain, perhaps something will happen.

May be your iPhone’s battery need to be replaced. Wait for the next update to resolve persisting issues.

Contact your cellular provider for assistance.

Just to add two more issues I experienced

I have two morning alarms setup, for instance I have an alarm goes off at 0655hr with ringtone while I have the second alarm at 0656hr without any tone. Before update, my alarm will ring for a minute before stopping. After update, it goes on without stopping

The second issue I faced is at times when I lock my phone it will have a sudden split seconds bright flash on my screen before locking

After the update. Many of my contacts on my phone are now gone (when i search the name it just says found in apps) People that were in my favorites, many of them just have a phone number and no name there.

I have restarted my phone but no luck. Anyone have any insight?

I had the same issue. It made me download the FaceTime app, then I was able to FT someone by clicking the video button on our text thread. IDK if this happened to you, but this dang update always deleted all my contacts and got rid f the contacts button in from my phone app. This update completely broke my phone.

After update yesterday I have several issues

My heart monitor kept going off. Three alarms had been set that wouldn't switch off. Not the best way to stay calm

My contacts don't show

My video on facetime doesn't work.

I've tried turning off the phone.

I fixed heart monitor by disabling all notifications in settings.

I can live without a camera on facetime but the contacts needs to be fixed

More issues.

Contacts not recognised.

I can no longer access images to send on. Some of my shopping apps not working and regular people I pay are no longer registered on my bank app.

I dare not use anything else for fear of discovering more problems.

I wish I could undo the upgrade

After spending over an hour messaging with Apple yesterday they could not figure out my issues after we tried multiple troubleshooting options. They have escalated it to another department. That being said. This morning the missing contacts have magically appeared again and things are back to normal (for me). I guess it just needed lots of time to fully update. I did mention to Apple that this was clearly because of the phone update as my iPad was functioning normally. Hopefully they sort out all the bugs for everyone soon

After the 17.4.1 update on iPhone 15 Pro does NOT connect to home Wifi. Can barely make phone calls & text, let alone phone does not ring for incoming calls and texts at times. NOR does Safari or any of the Social Media apps work. I have done ALL resets and nothing works. Want to delete latest update and that option is NOT AVAILABLE this time. HELP ASAP

After the 17.4.1 update my data stopped working like I can call and text but I can’t use it for anything else

I tried changing my SIM card and network reset but the problem is still present

Yeah, the battery drain was the first thing I noticed on my iPhone 15 and it’s significant when compared to pre update.

Also, I don’t know why but for me, the mobile network range was pretty low even tho another sim of the same operator on a different device had full signal. Restarted the phone a couple times. Didn’t really help
