Issues after updating to iOS 17.4.1

Hi Guys. After updating my iphone to the latest 17.4.1, i am facing several issues in the last 4-5 days,

  1. The contact poster of my contacts is not being displayed whenever i am making the call or receiving a call from them. It just shows a black background.
  2. The pedometer in iphone is not working properly. I go for a walk daily in the morning and the same distance before was shown around 4 Kms, now it is showing 2.5 or 3 Kms, and this issue is also consistent. There is something seriously wrong with the steps being counted.
  3. Battery drain has also increased by around 10-15% more than what it used to be. Even if my phone is sitting idle, it loses battery at a much faster rate than what was before.

I don't know if anyone else is facing these issues, but these issues are consistently there for me and are not resolved by restarting the phone (which i did several times).

I am experiencing tons of issues with new iOS update 17.4.1. Each time new version is installed matters seem to get worst. It’s ridiculous hiw many new bugs each version is introducing. My settings for major apps all erased. Can’t even upload or see my actual contacts on WhatsApp. My accounts all need to be reset can’t just sign in anymore. Are you not doing beta version first or testing upgrades before rolling out? I am seeing more issues with new iPhone 15 along with iOS updates.

Just to add two more issues I experienced

I have two morning alarms setup, for instance I have an alarm goes off at 0655hr with ringtone while I have the second alarm at 0656hr without any tone. Before update, my alarm will ring for a minute before stopping. After update, it goes on without stopping

The second issue I faced is at times when I lock my phone it will have a sudden split seconds bright flash on my screen before locking

I have to also agree with you, I have been with Apple For many years since the first roll out of the Apple Macintosh in the 80s. And i have to say these past year Apple has been having several serious issues with there products and these updates. These issues are damaging there known reputation for strong brand and reputation for creating high-quality and innovative products that has been both functional and aesthetically pleasing for many decades. I always say if steve jobs was still here we wont be having none of these issues.

Having the exact same issues right now. iMessage won't connect to my phone number, and even though there's a check mark next to my email, iMessage doesn't work on my email either. My cellular data doesn't work at all now as well. I've spoke to Apple Support and they said the spinning wheel next to your phone number should resolve within 24 hours after the update. Hopefully that's the case.

I received my new update last evening. I looked up and saw all of the negative reviews what this new Apple update has done. I haven’t downloaded this new update and I definitely will not be . There are a few updates that I have downloaded and it had similar issues as I see stated . I also heard on the news that Apple keeps sending these “ updates “ to install to people and it is messing peoples phones up . I heard that Apple is doing so , so that people can update to a newer apple phone . Not me , I’m going back to Android where I had absolutely no issues at all .

Since this latest update my keyboard shortcuts are not working in messages. As a professional ty is not good enough for thank you. My alarms do not respond to the snooze or turn off buttons without being selected multiple times. I have not tried FaceTime or any of the other apps that require camera access yet, but will next week. Let’s hope it works as I have a meeting on zoom. Apple needs to get this fixed asap.

My issue is kinda weird. It is somehow connected to the keyboard and it started after I updated to iOS 17.4.1. I don’t know how or why it happens but if I click on any rectangle that activates the keyboard or lets me type a text, the app freezes. Even if I force the app to close, it’ll work, but the moment I try to type again on the app or a different app, that one will freeze too. I’ll have to restart the phone before I can type. It will let me type for a moment then it’ll randomly start again. I have reset my iPhone, deleting over 200gb worth of files, yet to no avail. Having to force restart your phone and wait for it to boot so you can type a simple sentence is not cool.

oh and live text on photos has disappeared for no reason. I checked settings. It is toggled on but it doesn’t appear when texts are on images like it used to.

Please fix this bug in the next update.
