Issues after updating to iOS 17.4.1

Not sure what happened to my phone since I updated it a couple of days ago. Crashing. battery draining going from 80 to 70% in minutes without even using it. Apple please fix this issue. Not very happy 😞 also getting hot. What is going on? Iphone14pro

Happy to report all issues resolved themselves after 3 days. I did follow up at genius bar as my appointment was on day 3 and they did a quick health check of phone and all good. They did say that this sort of thing can happen with upgrades and just turn phone off and leave for a bit usually sorts it out.

For everyone having no cellular or cellular issues after updating: please see if you're in need of installing a carrier settings update

1. Make sure that your device is connected to Wi-Fi or a cellular network.
2. Tap Settings > General > About.
3. Follow the onscreen instructions to install your carrier update.

My Iphone worked perfectly with my new car’s carplay in Nov. 2023 when I first started using it and with every update thereafter I get frustrating random problems…prior to this sh-bomb 17.4.1 it was actually working again but now nothing really works great—certain apps won’t work right unless I am on cellular. I turned auto updates off after this update. I Might go back to Android this is my first Apple phone and I just don’t understand all the problems—hardware, software, sims…

After updating to 17.4.1 i found that my XR having ghost touch issues on the lower part of the screen when the phone warmed up after gaming, then the issues dissapear when the phone cools down this doesn’t happend on 17.4, welp some bug fixes it is.

Issues I’ve had after the update.

My phone was on charge while updating overnight, when I woke to My alarm, the screen was completely black and I couldn’t turn the alarm off nor could I open the phone as I usually would. Could still hear the key clicks but the screen wouldn’t illuminate. This ended up fixing itself in about an hour or so.

My audio is now not the same, with the volume right up can barely hear music playing.

my battery drains really fast, even typing this it’s drained 20% and the phone now shuts off at 10% which is now usually every hour because of the battery drainage.

since updating,

my imessage stopped working.I have tried restarting my phone and was going to turn mms messaging on and off, but further realization, i do not have a mms messaging switch in settings, i have also tried sending photos to other contacts that allow me to text and it comes up with the error message: imessage needs to be enabled to send this message, even though it is turned on.

After 17.4.1 update my incoming calls go right to VM, MMS messaging has been eliminated from my iPhone menu and does not work (cannot send group texts or images) and my battery does mid day. I worked with my carrier twice to reinstall eSIM - did not help. Talked to Apple rep who sent me back to my carrier :( This is a time suck trying to fix and very frustrating.

This is a self-help forum or ‘community’ where either we help one another solve issues or vent about them and hopefully Apple will take notice of the problems we are having. Don't expect too much, they are likely trying to resolve the issue in the next update OR will manage to break things further. I'm not going to rush in and will wait to find out if the next update is better or not because of what happened with this one.

After doing updating to IOS 17.4.1 my phone doesn't recognise my fingerprint and is not only that i can,t change my previous one and with the new safety i do mistake to press yes now i cant open anything because the first thing it asks me is my fingerprint. And with 200 attempts i do the phone tell me that protect it from stealing,. I am in panic i dont know what to do please help me

I have had issues with my Apply CarPlay since the update and the company thinks it’s an apple issue. It was working perfectly before and now it’s not fully connecting. I also have to restart my phone to get it to disconnect fully.

After updating my iPhone to iOS 17.4.1 I have big issues with my camera. When the zoom is on 1 , the picture is blurry. I even tried to reset my iPhone completely but didn’t help:( also the volume on my iTunes goes down all of sudden . I always loved apple but now I am very frustrated about these issues I am having with my iPhone since the update. I have been told in apple store that I will need to pay 300e for fixing my camera. Even though it’s not my fault !! The only thing I did was that I updated my iPhone to the newest iOS version. So much disappointment. Please fix this issue

I understand that you all are having issues with iOS 17.4.1, and you are not alone. I have suffered issues with cellular mobile data and other bugs. I have been able to find a solution to the Mobile Celluar but unable to find a solution to the other bugs.

1. Reset Network Settings: All network settings are removed. In addition, the device name assigned in Settings > General > About is reset to “iPhone,” and manually trusted certificates (such as for websites) are changed to untrusted.
2. You could attempt to Manually update your carrier settings on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

The Network reset worked on my iPhone and I have not had issues since. I hope this helps guys, if the error continues to occur I would take your device to your local Genius bar.

I experienced this yesterday: -

• The phone froze with a not moving loading sign when I was about to get into my phone desktop
• Hard reset the phone at least 5x
• Within the 5x my applications are not fully loaded and missing, most of the applications not working (image as attached)
• Off for abit, then turn it back on and leave it for the 5th time only it kinda get back to normal
