Issues after updating to iOS 17.4.1

Hi Guys. After updating my iphone to the latest 17.4.1, i am facing several issues in the last 4-5 days,

  1. The contact poster of my contacts is not being displayed whenever i am making the call or receiving a call from them. It just shows a black background.
  2. The pedometer in iphone is not working properly. I go for a walk daily in the morning and the same distance before was shown around 4 Kms, now it is showing 2.5 or 3 Kms, and this issue is also consistent. There is something seriously wrong with the steps being counted.
  3. Battery drain has also increased by around 10-15% more than what it used to be. Even if my phone is sitting idle, it loses battery at a much faster rate than what was before.

I don't know if anyone else is facing these issues, but these issues are consistently there for me and are not resolved by restarting the phone (which i did several times).

After updating to the latest iOS version, I've noticed that my iPhone is heating up more than usual, which seems to be a common issue with iPhone 15 since it launched. Additionally, my battery is draining much faster than before, and the performance seems to be deteriorating rapidly. The battery health, which was at 100%, has now dropped to 92%, and I'm concerned that it will continue to decrease quickly.

When I contacted Apple support, they mentioned that if the battery health drops to 80% or below, I may need to service the battery. This is concerning for me, as my phone is relatively new, and I've paid a significant amount for it. I've been an iPhone user since the iPhone 4s and have always recommended it to friends and colleagues. However, if these issues persist, I may have to reconsider and switch to another brand.

I believe Apple should address these issues promptly, as there are many users facing similar problems. I hope someone from Apple can respond and provide a solution. It's important for Apple to maintain its reputation for quality and customer satisfaction.

(You can notice the battery percentage (25%) in my screenshot; as I was charging it for the third time today as it drains very quickly).

After spending over an hour messaging with Apple yesterday they could not figure out my issues after we tried multiple troubleshooting options. They have escalated it to another department. That being said. This morning the missing contacts have magically appeared again and things are back to normal (for me). I guess it just needed lots of time to fully update. I did mention to Apple that this was clearly because of the phone update as my iPad was functioning normally. Hopefully they sort out all the bugs for everyone soon

Yeah, the battery drain was the first thing I noticed on my iPhone 15 and it’s significant when compared to pre update.

Also, I don’t know why but for me, the mobile network range was pretty low even tho another sim of the same operator on a different device had full signal. Restarted the phone a couple times. Didn’t really help

Delighted to say that some of the problems just resolved themselves over night.

Calculator is back. Sky Apps back. I can need recieve and send images on text and email.

Facetime video back.

What isnt back is the contacts on WhatsApp. Being able to put dates in my diary and access to some Apps.

I have an appointment at Genius Bar tomorrow so can update on how to fix issues

For me, contacts are just completely gone. They are gone from phone, WhatsApp does not connects to contacts, there is no more contact slider, facetime does not show contacts, the only thing that works is the contacts app. It didn't happen right away, but almost right away, my contacts disappeared, and I cannot get them back. Any help?

The post update problem I’m experiencing is with my contacts. All contact numbers were changed from iPhone, fax, mobile, etc.. they all now say “phone”. I manually corrected a few, but within a short amount of time they all went back to “Phone”.

NickName changed as well. The info that used to say “Dad” now says “daditem1.x-addressing-grammar:SLfioaUVLxJGaavKrdx4Igg11mpp1DWd5iYLab1PmMEhPWRssRSCrkuFCEmgkmE6HgUWS25MU7xXMNF2mhkplDYEBioY4TLfbOiQGqJWWkQCVKfO4QsXoJ4ICAO1agk8P89eZdN6kaEAdYQzqUXHs8quVxo+SYT2EZL13fTcGDJ/RR1j4L6zYI5brW7i8NOH5JamUyo8hpPbuG7hvyDnSfgdbi84Erw0BKfH7A7dVJyUKRUdjwRyMOMbckHPj6Aa8P4GtX0CWk2hYjGho9KWhnqQmq8JrhNYXffPQ1bpvgFAX9KC3WmT2mJTpuMAcYmcD1AaTaWtDHrRX6/PzNmn1botEErum+GpoJtyhSkEoa2hlaRkgjc15G73v6c7i5inSsqST+DMkfIEGZs1x8B3qhmAH8E=“.

Address fields all changed to “Address” as well.
