Issues after updating to iOS 17.4.1

Same thing happened to my family’s iphone (iphone 13) over night on 4/7 (Sun) after automatic ios 17.4.1. update. It looks like phone number was forced to be disconnected from the iPhone. Couldn’t sign in apple id, cause two factor verification sending passcode to the phone number. iPhone was useless only using home wifi. No phone call, no text, no face time. Verizon store can’t restore phone number for the iphone. After 5 hours staying at the store, finally verizon sent us a new iphone. Luckily, apple id was able to sign in. However, gmail still got locked out and there are so many things to restore for the new phone device. Verizon doesn’t figure out what is the reason for this problem. You need to go to your provider (verision, att, sprint, etc) and have them connect your phone number and iphone. If they can’t it is defective iphone and they should send you new iphone. It was a nightmare for 3 days.

Mine is exactly the same - I’ve called my network provider who have advised there are no issues with network and to call Apple. I’ve called Apple and they have said call network provider! My husband has the same phone and network and has updated to 17.4.1 with no issues!!! Who can help with this?

This version upgrade was very poorly implemented. My entire contacts have disappeared from phone along with favorites also. What is Apple doing? Why so many bugs???????????

I can’t go to WhatsApp; all passwords reset, can’t even use faceID. When will this all be fixed? My WhatsApp isn’t working and can’t even recognize contacts

Mine is doing the same thing. I went to my carrier and they said it was because my phone is blacklisted (it's not, I checked) it's because of this update and I am tired of calling Apple and they aren't able to give me any assistance. I need my phone!

I am having the data issue as well. I have contacted Apple who told me it was a carrier issue. So I contacted Roger’s tech supports and was told they they had a bunch of calls for the same issue that it is the new iOS 17.4.1 update so I guess I have to call Apple again today ugh

I’ve lost my I message FaceTime function I can’t track my phone either or my sons

i cant receive calls or txt unless on WiFi just had to go out a buy a mobile dongle spoken to helpdesk and basically told nothing wrong but I can buy new I phone

I only updated on 10 April 2024 to iOS 17.4.1 and so far the only issue I'm experiencing is the disappearance of the App Store. The Apple Store is still there but not the App Store. I'm surprised that Apple continues to release updates that create all kinds of issues for users.

I scored a fun issue with this update that’s only appeared now! Went to check the time during the night and my screen wouldn’t work at all. Just full black but like the functions behind it would. Like I apparently managed to open it with faceID and open camera and take a photo, I tried turning it off and still nothing on the screen, but I felt the vibrate of it trying to turn off. Luckily screen came back after a few minutes.

Apple Cash will NOT transfer money to my bank account. When I click transfer to bank (either instant or 1-3 business days), the bottom menu that usually pops up to confirm the transfer.. bounces out for a second and goes back down. I’ve tried to catch it before it goes down and I can’t.. turned phone off twice, sent Apple cash to a friend with same software and hers operated correctly, deleted wallet, and now here I am.

I had data issues and I followed this YouTube tutorial and this fixed my data issue yesterday. He is basically saying that the update we had on our iPhone was a partial release and that is why apple has a complete update iOS 17.4.1 on iTunes so you will have to update through iTunes.

My iPhone kept freezing and restarting... now its been stuck on the apple logo reboot screen for the past 6 hours. This new update has turned my phone into a useless brick. Nothing is working!!

Same thing:

-I don't have facetime anymore. (It keeps refreshing on the number phone area in the settings).

-I lost I message too. (It keeps refreshing on the number phone area in the settings).

-I lost the data service usage eventhough it's on. (When i put the phone into Airplane mode then remove it, the data plan disapears, it works only with wifi but when i call a number 3G service shows Up)

I’m having the same issues. Face ID doesn’t work with certain apps. My contacts icon is gone. The favorites icon is gone. Apple wants me to bring it in because it’s a hardware issue. The issue came after the update. Stop the unnecessary updates Apple!

Plus, phone freezes up in text messages-have to shut it down and restart to get phone to unfreeze. Battery drains QUICK now. Keyboards disappeared. Random switches from wifi to 5G. Did Apple bother to even test this "upgrade"??

SO FRUSTRATING. BUT I FOUND THE SOLUTION!! After reading this and another thread online I was able to fix it by re-downloading the update via iTunes with my phone plugged into a computer. The Genius Bar can do this as well, but it saved me a trip to do it myself even though they do not make it easy.

Download iTunes for your computer

Log in with your apple ID and your phone will give you codes for verification

After your phone is connected and shows under "devices" you will be able to reinstall the update

Click the tiny phone icon on the top left corner under the ribbon where it says "controls" and "account". The icon is next to the dropdown for "music, movies, tv shows, etc"

After you click the tiny phone icon you'll see the options to re-install the update and follow the process.
