IOS 17.5.1 Problems

After 17.5.1 I am having issues with bluetooth. Both my Shokz OpenRun Pro headset and my Toyota Camry Hybrid (2012) looses connection. Sometimes it will connect again after a restart and other times it doesn't. I have quite often resort to restart the phone multiple times to get it to re-pair if it won't reconnect and then it loses connection after a day or so. Sometimes a re-pair doesn't work and just gives an error to make sure the device is on. The phone sees it but selecting the device in the bluetooth settings just gives that error. Restart the phone again and then it will pair... until it looses connection when I turn the bluetooth device on again at some future time.

Anyone also have issues with Face ID getting disabled but not disabled in setting? Or did anyone’s focuses get completely reset? Any custom one I made are gone and all the others were requiring me to set them back up again.

I have an SE and haven’t noticed any other problems other than I can no longer connect to HDMI Lightning adaptor. YouTube streams fine but I can’t play any other streaming service through my phone. Had this problem once and the new update fixed it now with this one it’s gone again. So frustrating!

I have my husband pinned in my messages and since the update, I can no longer call or facetime him... the icons are completely grayed out.

Some of my apps don't work, for example, I stream of Sirius XM and sometimes, when the screen turns off, the music stops as if the screen going dark pauses the app.

I also have weird connection issues. I work from home and sometimes the phone disconnects from my wifi.

There is also a time lag. The time might be 1030 on my computer but my phone shows the time from the last opening.

Very frustrating.

My issues lie in that suddenly all the numbers I have blocked are now able to ring through incessantly. Also, my Sleep Focus and Do Not Disturb options are completely useless. I am on night shift this month and usually have no issues with my phone not ringing through the day as I only have my immediate family and work on my always allowed contacts. Suddenly, my phone is going off every 15 minutes from telemarketers, extended warranties, etc ALL numbers I have previously blocked.

After the 17.5.1, I cannot get the photo ID to work and now have to put my passcode in every time my lock screen comes up. Tried turning off and back on and redoing the photo ID scans but to no avail. My other iphone keeps telling me it is lost when we travel, even though i have it on me.

I am having the same issue here. Neither the e-sim nor the SIM card were visible. After switching the iPhone off and turning it on, it started to ask for a diagnosis. The iPhone is going wild while switching on and off the wifi option and is not working at all. Constantly refreshing for diagnosis (connecting to Apple Support).

Need help asap.

-Im having typing problems where I’ll hit one letter and it will put the letter next to it instead.

-I’ll tap an autocomplete word and it will work until I hit space bar then it will delete the part of the word it autofilled.

-I’ll tap an icon on my Home Screen the icon will dim as if it’s been touched but won’t open.

-swiping down from center opens the wrong menu

-Siri won’t register on my watch ultra until I reboot my watch and phone.

-why is there a camera button on the Lock Screen that you have to long press but the lightest barley touching left swipe opens the camera too?

Having terrible trouble with my handset, especially on META sites and so is my 85 year old mother which is a problem as it’s her lifeline, she’s 200 miles away and rebooting her phone is a technical challenge too far. Hope they issue a fix soon. Xx

Beyond frustrated. After 17.5.1 install, the photo adapter is no longer detected by the phone. using iPhone 13pro max.

right before IOS upgrade, the phone immediately detected the apple photo card reader adapter. Once install was complete, the adapter NO LONGER is detected. This annoyance + they have conveniently removed the ability to work with image capture. Not cool at all. i checked with the Apple Store genius crew member, they said there’s nothing that can be done. Suggestion to only wait for another update?? Starting to feel like apple is becoming pharmaceutical minded; aiming to fix a problem, with the side effects being a multitude of other problems you never had. Also, similarly, the constant nagging to install the update is right in line with the above referenced advertising strategy to get you HOOKED.

you should NOT be releasing updates until they have been undoubtably vetted.

Since this update my Face ID has stopped working! I contacted support and they said nothing was wrong with my true depth camera, also the phone battery will just die out of no where even when charged. The phone will turn off out of no where and battery will be dead when I get it back on!

I am not getting phone calls or text messages from friends and family with android phones and they are not getting my calls and texts unless I turn iMessage off but when I turn iMessage off I don’t get text messages from my friends and family that have an iPhone. This is a disaster and yes I have reported it, but that doesn’t help me today. I need a fast solution!!

-the clock goes away in landscape mode and pulling done the command menu is no help as the clock isn’t in there either.

-if you start typing a word but backspace to delete a letter autofill just loses its mind.

...17.5.1 for Ipad requires 6.5gb of free space, that's 20% of my 32gb Ipad storage! So I removed a whole bunch of videos, pictures, and apps to free up 7+gb of space. Yet when I attempt to update to 17.5.1 the update stalls and informs me I need to free up more space. 3 attempts so far without success.

Losing 20% of storage pretty much hobbles and renders my Ipad to obsolete status!

Since the new update, I’m also struggling with this phone. Constantly freezes between everything and then doesn’t even let you shut off half the time. Can’t text longer than a few words, freezes during searches. Can’t copy and look up things. Siri isn’t working properly either.
