IOS 17.5.1 Problems

Phone was dandy until I did iOS 17.5.1 update last night. I just got off phone with Apple Technical Support, no solutions as of now. Here’s a list of problems now:

  1. Dropping WiFi A LOT throughout day, 5 min on, then off, repeat
  2. Turning off WiFi, still couldn’work online using 5G
  3. Text and email notifications not working at all, banners nor sound
  4. When WiFi was working during day, I’d send email to myself to check, emails sat in OutBox until I waited 5-10 min then I’d go back to OutBox and push it through a second time. It would then go through

Very concerned I’m not getting important incoming emails.

I haven’t even checked yet if my photos have been messed up like others are reporting (which 17.5.1 was supposed to fix from previous update that caused photo issues)

My internet company is not having issues. My phone provider Verizon isn’t having issues.

This must be iOS huge mistakes. Nothing is related to each other, the only common denominator is 17.5.1

All of my issues stemmed from Screen time settings. the following steps solved most of my issues:

Disable screentime completely (bottom of hte screen)

Open content & Privacy restrictions, allowed apps & features - and allow Siri.

For some reason, Siri had been disabled, and disappeared from my Settings menus - which meant that nothing else worked (like CarPlay, etc...) this seems to have resolved things (for now)

iPhone XS iOS

I did have an email problem. Same story. Reinstalled the email app and problem solved.

My biggest problem is the Contact and Calendar applications. Multiple duplications of reminders. Soon as I rectify, then when the phone is reconnected to wifi, the same duplications reappear but have an additional quantity added.

The Contacts list is a nightmare. I have now 11k of multiple same contacts. Somebody sends me a WhatsApp call and it says “Contact Name or 123 others.” So according to the sm platform that namesake is repeated 123 x. I initially tried some apps to remedy the duplication, it sorted the contacts list, but the next day, the same nonsense occurred. Turfed the app and tried on line help from some well known 3rd party assistance. No luck.

So here I am seeking help. Anybody?

PS: Then lastly my typing area changes colour from time to time, I can live with this.

This is also happening to all of my IOS devices. iPhone 13, iPhone 11 and iPad Pro 2.

The WiFi network is constantly dropping and I have also run out of data on my iPhone as it normally always WiFi. My provider O2 has told me it is not their issue and I need to increase my monthly charge to get more data.

Apple needs to sort out this major BUG………..

Agree, glad I'm not only one. From the time I updated phone to now, everyday something new happens.

First my ft would take several tries to go through, but eventually would.

Then my FT stopped working completely.

Next my texts became increasingly more slow when sending to the point where now they don't send at all sometimes.

Todays problem is I'm not being given notifications and if I am it's ten minutes later. The only apps doing this are apple apps...

I have a call with tech tonight, hoping they can fix it as I can't keep lugging my computer around and kind of need to be able to reach people.

I’m also facing the network issue .. not **Review of iOS 17.5.1 Update: Network Connectivity Issues**

I recently updated my iPhone to iOS 17.5.1 and have since encountered significant network connectivity issues. Prior to the update, my device consistently had strong network reception, but immediately after installing iOS 17.5.1, my phone is not working with mobile network.

This issue is quite disruptive, and I'm hoping Apple addresses it promptly in a subsequent update. Until then, the lack of reliable network connectivity is a major drawback and a significant inconvenience. If you rely heavily on your mobile network for daily tasks, you might want to hold off on updating to iOS 17.5.1 until this issue is resolved.

My internet connection on my iPhone 13 Pro Max was slowed down after the 17.5.1 update. Before it, the internet was good. Now, trying to search Youtube, leaving comment on a social media, and even trying to send messages through messaging apps takes a few minutes before sending. I tried to contact my internet provider but it was fine on their end. I checked with my sister's phone who haven't updated to the latest IOS and her phone is working fine, her internet connection isn't having any issues at all. Now I know that it's the IOS problem. I wonder when will this be fixed?
