Allergic Rash from the Apple Watch Ultra because of Nickel in the bottom (part against your skin)

I have had the Apple Watch 1 (original), the Apple Watch 4, and now the Ultra. I had a little issue with the 1st two watches, but the Ultra has been causing a major reaction (maybe there is more nickel in the Ultra?), to the point I can't wear it every day. I still do wear it in spite of the rash, but its too much to deal with. If I cover the back with clear packaging tape to prevent direct skin contact, will that effect the watches ability to still monitor everything? If not, is there a solution for this issue?

I believe that Apple should provide something for this issue as the price of the watch is substantial and the watch has become part of mine and others (which there are many if you Google it) daily lives. Even if you sell it separately (at a reasonable price), there should be something (other than to stop using nickel to make the watch) to protect our skin from rashes and still have a fully functioning watch.

Thank you for your time,

Michael

This is a user-to-user technical support forum. Apple's participation here is minimal.

Apple is clear in the documentation that the watch contains nickel. It is incumbent upon buyers with nickel allergies to do their due diligence. Apple isn't any more likely to do anything about it than they are about the silicone tips for AirPods. People who are allergic to silicone need to make their own adjustments.

There are covers sold on Amazon for the back of watches. Some people have reported success with them.
